The FO can send a clear strong message that it’s serious about making a run in 2026 by going FA and getting Devin Bush to knock over the furniture and follow this up with bringing in Sonny Styles in the draft . You’re helping your entire defense by supporting your front by bringing in two effective disrupters at LB .

By parting ways with Logan Wilson it’s about 6.5 $ you can send over to the Bush contract help pay for some of it . Also get a top flight CB with pick 2 round one either Terrell or Cisse . Playmakers disrupters upgrades all of them . .
 
Sonny Styles would have to be taken with our 12th overall pick. I'm not sure that's the best move since our Cowboys lack draft picks in both the 2nd and 3rd rounds. Too many holes to fill on defense but lacking draft picks.

If Ohio Safety, Caleb Downs, is already taken by the time our Cowboys pick at #12, I would rather trade down that 12th overall pick into the mid-to-late teens (15th - 17th spot) while picking up a late 2nd round pick. Use that traded down mid-to-late teens 1st round pick on 6'6", 275 lbs DE/DT, Keldric Faulk from Auburn.



Then with our Cowboys other 1st round pick (20th overall), do the same thing. Trade down from #20 into the mid 20s while picking up a 3rd round pick which we currently lack. Then use that traded down mid-20s pick and draft 6'3", 235 lbs LB, Anthony Hill, Jr. from Texas.



That leaves our Cowboys with a 2nd and 3rd round picks to use at Safety, CB or any other spot needed on Day 2. 2nd and 3rd round draft picks which we currently don't have. Have to trade down both original 1st round picks several spots to garner enough draft picks to help fill too many holes on Defense and possibly Offense as well. Jerry and the front offense need to be smart.
 
Just say no to Keldric Faulk. He reminds me of that bust we drafted from Michigan. However, if we do pick a linebacker, it should be Anthony Hill, not Sonny Styles.

Frankly, our DBs and safeties are so bad that I would rather we draft a DB and a safety with our first two picks. I would trade our No. 12 pick for more selections. If we get Aveion Terrell and Thieneman, along with a couple more corners in the later rounds after trading back, I would be very happy.
 
It’s very optimistic to think in 2026 that trading down a few notches will get you later picks round one plus 2nd and 3rd round value . The defensive guru now in Miami Hatley probably grabs Downs forget him .

Watching tape of Hill & Styles I’ve seen not one mock that has Hill taken before Styles. Everything about Styles says disruption . Keldrick Faullk I am not sold on .

Bush will cost but you sign him for multiple years to team with a Styles and I expect Shemar James to get better and better .

Take Terrell or Cisse with the second first rounder to team with Revel , Bland as slot corner .

Clowney and James Houston bring both back at Edge they are not budget breaking signings and are effective .

Agree with pick 20, drop back and get the best corner left and then best LB. Really need a pass rusher for sure….there some good corners and LB we can get later in the first and into the second.

Cowboys again going inexpensive “ hoping “ Eberflus the LB guru would make it work . You want a quality LB ( Lee or LVE ) going to have to invest in the draft and possibly FA as well only so many draft picks to go around .

Styles & Bush remakes that room .

Trading down on both picks is an interesting concept to get 2nd and 3rd round picks. However JJ will draft a injured project in the 2nd so not sure they need that pick.

Oregon safety Dillon Thieneman would be a "really" nice pickup at 20. Chess piece type of guy. Can play HIGH or in the box. Over his career he's reportedly had about 1100 snaps at FS and 700+ snaps in the box. Gets downhill FAST. Good hands, good instincts, fleet footed and rarely fooled. Not afraid to get dirty. You can move this guy anywhere in your secondary. Nfldraftbuzz has him #2 behind Downs.

Would they want to PAY Bush. That's the question. He ain't no Kenneth Murray.

Not sure why he's being mocked to the Dolphins......they have waay more offensive concerns, especially trying to replace Tua and eating his $55M guaranteed salary.

Hell, I think Downs has a better chance going to the Commanders than the Dolphins

No one has picked Hill over Styles in a mock draft. However, I’ve seen videos on YouTube that rate Hill as the No. 1 linebacker over Styles. That’s because he has been more productive than Styles and even Reese.

In my opinion, he will fall to the second round. The team that gets him will be lucky and it might as well be the Cowboys.
