I have a lot of respect for Flacco -- he put on an incredible show of quarterbacking last season in the playoffs -- really the only place that matters.

I think you would be hard pressed to find a QB who does much better in that offense. They literally only have one reliable weapon - Ray Rice - and they just don't ever use him. Every QB would struggle in that situation.

In the playoffs the last three years he has thrown 18 TDs vs only 2 interceptions.

Reminds me of Plunkett a bit in that he is a mad bomber type who plays well in the playoffs.

He had more than Ray rice when they won the SB notice I said They. Same front office same QB yet right now throwing more picks than TD, see they had a defense and some other key weapons that is why they won not because Flacco is some great QB. He is good but it was the Balt Ravens who won the SB not Flacco. Kind of works that way.. As for Elite QB they are the QB who put up top numbers year in and year out no matter what the overall team record is.

Since the modern, Joe Six-Pack definition of an elite quarterback is to be the QB1 on the roster when they hand out the rings, I would say yes, he still is. A few bad starts doesn't change that.

This. Guy was pretty much written off toward the end of last season. Then he gets a new OC, two significant changes on the OL, and offense that rediscoverd Ray Rice, and a couple of defenses that forgot to play defense. He had three great games (granted, post season), but that's basically it.

He has never been elite. Just like Eli, who isn't either. Look how much Eli is getting a pass because he doesn't have a run game or blocking. Again, Eli wouldn't have lasted behind the Cowboys offensive line and now we have full proof that he wouldn't.

If no other player has a exceptional game, the MVP is almost always the winning QB, even if they were unexceptional. They have to give the award to someone.....
