Is he? I am not sure, but if he is, I like the idea of both our tackles playing for contracts after watching the type of money being thrown around.

Both?

I am looking forward to it also. Lets hope that the Boys can squeeze a SB victory out of him while he is trying to perform for a new contract. Same goes for JJones if no good trades come about even though I personally would rather keep him.

Yes, this is a contract year for Flo. He signed a five year deal in 2003.

And I think Charles meant it's a contract year for Colombo because if he performs well this year he'll probably get his contract extended.

If Colombo has another healthy year last 06 but his performance improves since he now has more time to devote to improving his weight/conditioning program and less time on rehab, he definitely will get an extension for some serious money.

Adams might be in different situation cause his contract is over after 07 season and he's 32. Adams is okay at LT but certainly not among the top 5 or so despite making the pro bowl. Will be interesting to see if our new coaching staff shares Parcells' view of McQuistan as our starting LT in the future. Hopefully there will be enough media tidibts so we will know what's happening at that position and whether McQuistan is/is not already challenging Adams. Even if we do keep Adams, I hope we don't break the bank for him since he probably has only 2-3 years left.

If Flo plays well, he'll likely get an extension too -- he and his agent know that since he'll hit the market at 33, he won't get top dollar.

I wouldn't mind that. Most OLmen can play well until their late 30s unless they have mounting back or knee problems.

I think if Adamns has a Solid year he has a chance to get a new contract. I also think Dallas will look for a LT in the draft this year

I wouldn't mind seeing us take Doug Free in the 2nd/3rd round area. He was one of the top LT's coming into the year, but a foot injury seems to have really dropped him.

Good, the last time he played up to his potential was his last contract year.

If memory serves, Adams had a breakout season the last time he was a FA to be, only to get a fat contract. After that, he went back to underperforming again. As such, he should have a monster year this year, but wouldn't be shocked if Dallas doesn't offer him top dollar.

I don't think that is right. He was just so-so in 2002, his contract year. In fact most thought that Dallas would not sign him after that season. He signed his big contract prior to 2003 and had a very good year that season. He was better than average in 2004 and was doing well in 2005 before tearing his ACL. I thought he played well in 2006 for a guy that was rehabbing from a major injury. It is hard to get a great guage on whether he underperformed because there were so many other glaring holes along the O-line in 2004 and the line clearly got much worse after he was injured in 2005.

Oh Yeah! Well I think...Ooops, you are right, he did actually get better after his contract. I shall now go back and lick my wounds!:D

No, that isn't correct. Flo had a breakout year the first season BP was here which was the FIRST year of his new deal.

At the time people were wondering about extending the Hotel because of his one good year. That was one of BP's first decisions was to convince JJ to dole out the money. Turned out to be a good call.
