The team as a whole
By now, we all know the Cowboys led the NFL with 119 penalties for a total of 952 yards. Dreadful. Anyway, I figured you all would like a look at the breakdown of penalty by unit. Not surprisingly, the offense led the way.
Offensive penalties: 64 (NFL rank: 1st)
Yardage: 462 Defensive penalties: 40 (NFL rank: 3rd)
Yardage: 328
Special teams penalties: 15 (NFL rank: T-13th)
Yardage: 162
Overall totals: 119 (NFL rank: 1st)
Yardage: 952 (Only Green Bay had more with 984 penalty yards on 110 flags)

JimDandy;2602044 said:Thanks for the info about Flozell. Hard to believe that he only averages 4 false starts a season. What is your source for this factoid? Again, it seems that he averages two a game. Heck, we have such gaping holes in so many areas, he is just one of multiple problems. Frustrating.

ajk23az;2602051 said:How is 4 false starts per year a "gaping hole". The guy is still an above average LT.
Your thinking is flawed right now.

his penalties are always at crucial times.
never understood the love for this dude.
you put a speed rusher on him and he is toast....plain and simple.
we need a jon runyan type left tackle.
there are two players on the eagles i have nothing but respect for:
runyan and westbrook

Lots of things are wrong with this team and it's not necessarily an issue with Flo only. If we solitify the LG spot, Flo's performance will improve IMO. I believe that he's over compensating for the weakness at RG. If he's allowed to just play his man and not be asked to cheat in to help the LG, I think things will improve. JMO.
big dog cowboy;2602094 said:There are too many who look at the 2008 Flo and forgot he played injured. In 2007 he had a great year and proved he was one of the better LT's in the game.
I agree it seems that way sometimes. But there are 4 other OL who get called sometimes.JimDandy;2602044 said:it seems that he averages two a game.
Doesn't change what I said in the least.JimDandy;2602097 said:But yet he also had 9 false starts in 2007.
