Once again, I'm looking ahead here. Hypothetically, we get Peterson in the off-season.

I think we have enough money in the off-season cap wise to make a few moves on defense, not huge superstars, but kind of what Denver did.

If Claiborne keeps up his play, he will be released; Scandrick takes over. Let's say we target a safety/ DLinemen in free agency and I truly do believe you are looking at a Super Bowl contender. I feel with Peterson, if we have at least a top 12 defense we will be very hard to beat.

Rolando, Carter and Lee would be one of the best linebacker corps in the NFL. Maybe I am being too optimistic here, but I don't feel like we are too far away from being contenders again.

Side note: I would fully anticipate Peterson taking a hometown discount to play here. After all, he did call the freaking owner begging to come here.

do you mean Adrian Peterson? WHY?????

He's the best running back in the NFL and one of the greatest to do it. Let's be honest, he is a better running back than Murray is. Imagine him behind that O line, and with Dez here, it will avoid teams from stacking the box against him. It's kind of scary how good he will be behind this line

Murray is a very good back and younger with more tread on the tires.
He'll be less money and doesn't have the violence against children issue.
You know we're kinda good in that arena as it is and the money can be spent
more wisely. IMHO

As long as Garrett and Romo are here, it doesn't matter what we do to the roster.

No AP, heck Murray may not even be here if he keeps up the fumbling.
I still think they need to activate Williams, have him as the contingency plan, as well as I think he can help now.

AP has a whipping room. He may never play again. Let alone for us.
No thanks.
Injury prone anyways.

Once again, I'm looking ahead here. Hypothetically, we get Peterson in the off-season. - You know he has 2 more years on his contract with the Vikings... right? If something happened so bad that they cut him, why would you want a 31 yr old

If Claiborne keeps up his play, he will be released; Scandrick takes over. Let's say we target a safety/ DLinemen in free agency and I truly do believe you are looking at a Super Bowl contender. I feel with Peterson - again no! if we have at least a top 12 defense we will be very hard to beat.

Rolando, Carter and Lee would be one of the best linebacker corps in the NFL. Maybe I am being too optimistic here, but I don't feel like we are too far away from being contenders again. - I agree completely

Side note: I would fully anticipate Peterson taking a hometown discount to play here. After all, he did call the freaking owner begging to come here.

I'm not sure why you are so hyped about Peterson. Legal issues aside, he will be 31 yrs old next season and will have taken a beating during his prime and also out of football for a year (at least) before his legal issues are resolved.

If AP goes to another NFL team it will be Dallas, but right now it is a long shot that he ever plays again.
