For fun: We can realistically start off 4-0

The Giants game is a big question mark, but if we win that, I think well start 4-0. We can definitely beat the Chiefs, Rams, and Chargers. I don't think we beat Denver so it would probably stop after 4, but man thatd be a hell of a good start. Whose with me?:starspin

with an offensive line and a new safety its possible.

Few thought we would beat the Giants in the opener last year and then lose to the Seahawks. The NFL is just not that predictable.

Just as unpredictable is what we'll look like coming out of the gates.

BTW - neither have I written the Broncos game off as a loss. Not at all...

I'll be satisfied with a 1-0 start, and go from there.

im waiting to see what camps have to offer first. But i always say that. Its fun to speculate and anything goes and im not decrying you of that. But me personally i like to see whats happening in the camps and what Dallas installs for the preseason. Lot of ifs with both the OL and defense now that it is getting an overhaul. Which i am all for.

Im just hoping if its an attacking defense that isnt afriad of turnovers Or getting physical than i will be extremely thrilled and go with the 4-0 start. Its going to have some bumps at first. have faith if giving time and rope to do what he needs, that Callahan can get the offensive line going and make things happen. Maybe now that he feels the defense wont be on the field all day forcing the offense to play from behind, maybe he can get things rolling and get a stable O line to help the plays move the chains.

The question than becomes what offense do we play and can we punch it in the red zone.

I don't know how "definite" a win is when pitting an 8 win team versus a 7 win team.

I think KC will be improved now that they have a guy who won't turn it over 2-3 times per game.

I don't think 4-0 is likely.

The Rams aren't going to be a gimme on anyone's schedule this season, I don't think. But, yeah, we've got a relatively favorable start to the season setup. Love/Hate opening with the Giants. That's obviously going to be a tough game, no matter what. If we lose it coming out of the gate, it's going to color the whole first quarter of the season, too.

Sbs arent won in September anyway so im okay with a loss. I dont see the love for the Rams all of a sudden that some people are having and I think with the parity of the NFL every team is in it til december.

You may not win a SB in September but you can damn sure put yourself in a horrible position to even compete for one if you have a crappy September.

Dallas loses the opener last season and the final week of the season would have been meaningless.

Every game, especially divisional games, are games that teams need to win.

Unless our pass rush improves greatly, I don't see us beating the Chargers or Giants. I do agree that if we beat the Giants would can win the others though.

that is the heart of the matter. We need considerable improvements in both areas for that to happen.

We could just as easily go 1-3 as 4-0. Lets see what new additions are made and what injuries there are coming out of camp.

I don't *love* the Rams, but they've got a lot of picks, a decent QB, and, in my opinion, a hell of a head coach who'd defensive-minded. They're going to play good defense this season, and he's going to build an all-day sucker of a team there. They might only end up being an 8-8/9-7 squad when they're done, but they're going to play you to the end of the 4th quarter in all 16 games next season.

I'm with you on that! Just because Payton Manning is the QB it seems everyone is soooo scared of him.

Just because you can land a 747 on his forehead, everyone thinks he invented the QB position.

Thank you!

However, there are posters that think that last loss to the Commanders is what left the Cowboys out of the playoffs or winning the division. And I tried to get it into their tiny brains that the Cowboys were lucky to even be in a position to even compete for the division.

It's like some posters (and they know who he is) only seem like he only saw the last game of the season.

I agree. But last season, the Cowboys began the season by defeating the defending Super Bowl champions in New York to start the season 1-0. Optimism was all around - but then suddenly the Cowboys were routed in Seattle by the Seahawks.

So while 4-0 is very possible, I think 3-1 is more likely.

fair enough, you backed it up.
