For the 2nd half of the Draft... SAFTEY!!!

I don't really follow College Football very much so I had one major question... what players that remain in the draft would still be able to make a run at starting along side Roy Williams at the other Saftey spot??? I would like to know what to look for in the Saftey position when the draft re-starts at 11am (EST).

With our situation at the other Saftey position being below average (in my opinion) and having so many problems last season there, I'm really interested if it would be worth the Cowboys grabbing a Saftey in the 4th round (or later if possible). If there are no decent Saftey's that could challenge the current 2 that are going to battle it out in that spot as of now (Keith Davis vs Marcus Coleman), then the Cowboys should probably concentrate on adding depth at the O-Line and LB positions.

Thanks in advance...

GO COWBOYS!!!

What about Darnell Bing from USC? He may be more like Roy, but I didn't see him go in the first 3 rounds. Some people had him going to Pitt in the 1st round?

I like Simpson, but I really dont think we will draft a saftey. I think we will go to training camp with Coleman, Justin B. Pile and Davis going for the fS spot. I really dont think FS was ever a NEED to the coaching staff,, but we might get one now that we are in day 2, who knows.. I like KO and I think he would be an instant starter for us.

Justin B. didnt play a down last year...so he is basically your S pick this year. Offensive line is has yet to be addressed and is frightening.

We are going to have to trade up to get Watkins. I guess BP has blind faith in Coleman. In Nov. when WRs and TE are killing Davis and Coleman, we will get he last laugh.

Boat's already sailed. Pat Watkins is the last hope for decent FS play in dallas in 2006. If we dont get him this round, this draft is toast. The only other decent S left is Greg Blue, but he's a SS.

Every year it seems like we have one major need that's ignored. In the past it's been a massive DT, a RT, WR, or LB. This year it's FS and OL. For some reason, we're ignoring these positions.

Now, I'm all for BPA. But I think your draft board has to somewhat reflect the needs you have. I cannot understand the logic we've used this draft.

Now, I like Fasano. I really do.....but if he's ranked 50th on your board, and there's a player you need ranked 52nd, then why not take the need player?

FS was a disaster last year. Keith Davis is a good spot player....good for depth. Our secondary is outstanding at CB. Safety is lacking. I'm afraid we're going to do to Roy Williams what we did to LaRoi Glover. We never provided Glover with a big body next to him to maximize his effectiveness. Yes, he was always good....but we never got all we could out of him.

I'm afraid we'll never get all we could out of Roy. He needs a complimentary piece to allow him to do what he does best. I'm afraid we'll go into next season having to use him to protect the deep half of the field.

I'am just wondering why we didn't use some of these picks to trade up in the 4th round, lots of good players were still there.

Clayton reported the Saints are shopping Dwight Smith, which may not be true since Clayton is reporting it

That is sure some fan talk there, "lets hope the Cowboys get beat so I can be right"

I hope I am wrong about Coleman and Davis getting abused, but we will see.

Point is you want them to fail ..... so you can laugh.

 Thats what "I will get the last laugh" Means.

Failing to address FS at this point is absolutely ridiculous. Fasano and Hatcher are ok picks, but I feel they both could have been available on the second day, and we really missed out on a great playmaking FS. Coleman is not the answer either. We will all be calling for his head by the middle of the season. Hopefully we can salvage a little bit here and still get Watkins from Florida St, our last chance of getting a play making FS this year.

The only other option other than getting by with second rate FS play this year would be a trade for an Ed Reed type player, but I don't see that happening.

Wrong and wrong. They both would have been gone before the draft ended last night. BTW they are much more than "ok" picks.
