So since all QBs throw INTs and take Sacks there has never been a great one in the History of the NFL.
Good info.
It's not just Tony Romo. It's a disease that infects ALL quarterbacks.
I think, sometimes, a quarterback is a quarterback to his and his team's detriment. By this I mean, that their decision to continue to be a quarterback hurts them. They think "I can thread that needle" or "I can squeeze it in" or "if i chuck it up, my guy will get it" yeah well, very rarely does that work. Why? Because most often, the quarterback is not as good as he thinks he is.
QBs are taught/coached on how to THROW the ball and that's what they do. IMO, more QBs need to be taught/conditioned to recognize certain conditions/situations and when to *NOT* throw the ball at a receiver.
This could be: taking a sack, throwing it away, or running for whatever yards they can get; options that lessen the risk of the ball being turned over. It's a skill IMO, because it's something they have to train their brains to accept. And it's not failure, it's just NOT hurting the team. Sure, a QB might get lucky, chuck a pass up and his guy catches, but how often does that happen? A hail mary at the end of a game...ok, but otherwise, QBs gotta smarten up and quit hurting their teams.
