For the record, the Sportswriters did not represent me today at the PC.

I was only able to view the first part of it but then I read the various comments which repeated the type of questions the sportswriters were asking. The media likes to grade the draft and Parcells' coaching tenure, I think the fans should grade the media.

I would give them a D today. They spent an inordinate amount of time questioning Parcells about TO. They have beaten that horse to death. They didn't seem too interested in discussing the draft, the health of the players recovering from injuries, where will be the most competitive positions, etc.

They wanted to grill Parcells rather than collect information. One writer had already stated she wanted to get Parcells on record regarding TO so if he left after this year he could not use TO as an excuse for leaving. They are already trying to start a controversy before this season starts whether Bill will leave or stay for another year.

It seems they would be more concerned about the talent and condition of the talent on the field and BP's anticipated success for this season rather than whether he might use some excuse about leaving should he leave.

If he leaves what does it matter what excuse he uses? The issue is whether he leaves or we get a new HC, not what kind of excuse he gives. How asinine can you get?

Why do they grill him over and over about his relationship with Jerry?
JJ and BP have both stated fifty eleven hundred times they have a good relationship and enjoy working together but the press won't quit.

THE PRESS IS NOT COMPRISED OF SPORTSWRITERS THAT ARE REPRESENTNG THE FANS. THE MOST OF THESE PEOPLE ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN CONTROVERSY AND KEEPING SOMETHING STIRRING ALL THE TIME. It is obvious by the kind of questions they ask. They stay in an adversarial mode all the time. I don't blame BP going into hibernation after the season. When your season ends the last thing you want is to continue to put up with hostile adversarial people.

How would you grade the performance of the Press today?

the more popular they become. Someone should make this into a poll and email it to these :mule: 's . Let them know how the die hard fans really feel about

Right- if there ever was a perfect illustration of why BP has such contempt for the media it was shown today.

hypocrits - Former TO haters that are kissing his *** so hard now they don't even think Parcells should be asked about him.

liars - former TO haters that will diss own the cowboys if they sign TO.
Looks like this forum is full of liars and hypocrits.:bang2:

Is there any way we can have an "online petition" to express our disgust.

I understand their job.....I understand they want to be the first to break a "story".

But I'm disgusted with their line about wanting to represent the readers. As a Cowboy fan, I got nothing from the conference.

Did we hear one thing about what BP saw on the field today? Didn't JFE say that there would be questions about the draft picks? I didn't hear any....if there were questions along those lines I must have missed them sifting through the TO crap.

Anyone have her EMail address? I'd like to drop here a line.

No, the problem most of us have is the fact that they claim to be doing this "for the fan". But what the fans want is INFORMATION about our team.

They aren't providing it. Instead they're trying to create news rather than report it.

Looks like this forum is full of liars and hypocrits.

You mean the ones that unapologetically turned the other way and cheered for drug abusers, adulterers and all around scumbags in the early 90's (as long as they were winning championships on the football field), but now all of a sudden have become moralits when it comes to TO?

Yeah, I hate hypocrites.

Its a shame that we had an hour long rookie mini-camp press conference and I know nothing more about our 3rd round draft pick from our head coach than I knew yesterday.

F

I found out nothing I allready knew about our draft picks and all I have heard is them spinning Parcells words about being onboard with TO.

BIG FAT F

Parcells was vulnerable too to release more information than he normally would about Henson, and our draft picks and they didn't take advantage of it what so ever. Pathetic.

Is there such a thing as a F- ?

What's with the griping over asking about Owens??? He is by-far the most controversal player in the game here and of course people were going to ask questions the minute he signed here, add the fact that he was skipping off-season workouts and yes - I want to hear it from Parcells himself that he was okay with the signing. He made the comments about shopping for the groceries, about being too old for thugs and troublemakers, does he think he can say that then yet not have to answer for it when he does the opposite???

The press is a reflection of the fan base.

To my way of thinking, the NFL has gone after the casual fan...ya know, more offense...parity...blah blah blah.

These things put the average fans in the seats...and the bad news is, there are more casual fans than die-hards like us.

Sooooo....the press asks questions that the majority want to hear.

The majority doesn't know who Justin Beriault is. And they don't want to know how he's responded to his surgery.

Owens it the quick sell.

Parcells' silence is the quick sell.

And it's what interests the majority.

Now, I am by no means defending the press. BUT they are no more lame than the average fan. They want to write about what sells.

The explanation of how we are going to use a 2 TE offense doesn't sell.

Parcells...Owens...they sell.

At least in my opinion.

I guess that is what makes this forum so great. Die-hard fans that care about the details of the organization and not just the quick sell.
This really is the best place to find quality info on the Cowboys. More than the local papers, tv stations, and radio stations, and much better than the national media.

Excellent point.

I completely agree.

The fan base, by and large, is totally clueless and dramatic.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?

Or maybe......

The fan base is a reflection of the press?

Maybe the casual fan doesn't know any better because the only input they have is from these mediots, and not the rational insight from Dallascowboyzone (mostly rational);)
