San Antonio is a great city. Older than most cities. Romantic. History filled and the women are out of this world attractive.
Safety:
The Alamodome is near downtown. If you must walk to and from the A-Dome, be sure you are with a friend and by friend I don't mean some friendly gal who offers to keep you company. However, practices will be in the day, so it's no big deal. Parking will cost $10, I hear.
Stay away from the east side of town.
Stay away from the West side of town (though) that side does have some really good Tex-Mex food and has numerous cultural hot spots.
Food:
For ambiance, go to the River Walk.
For good food, eat AWAY from the tourist-infested River Walk.
And as long as you are in the epicenter of great Mexican food, for pete's sake, eat it and don't go looking for burgers which you can get at home.
Imbibing:
Here is a bona-fide treat: The frozen sangria at Rosario's on South Alamo Street. The house is packed with beautiful women and it's loud and festive and very hip.
Also, the margaritas at Tomatillos on Broadway near Central Market, that area.
For the best and coldest schooner of beer, find it at Pico de Gallo, again on South Alamo Street. And the food there is top-notch Mexican.
Where to meet nice gals:
For you lonely guys wanting a chance to meet a lonely and attractive woman, go to Raffles club. Mama don't have to know where you been to in San Antonio.
history:
blah, blah, blah.
Oh, the Alamo DOES HAVE A BASEMENT. Please believe me.
once, after I got kicked out of the Emily Morgan hotel bar, I looked across the street to the north wall of the Alamo compound and DANG, I saw some guy unloading freight into an elevator that went below ground. That means the Alamo has a basement.
Nearby areas:
austin is an hour away.
Gruene is a half-hour away, home to the famous Gruene dance hall. It has lots of Country, folk and Rock acts.
And I would walk to an from the A-Dome. practices are in the day. Just don't forgit your hat or your brains will be more fried than Martellus Bennett's.
the Red Roof Inn is a half-mile away. It is modern, clean and inexpensive. Tell them gimmetheball! sent you and you'll get a blank look.
Just trying to hep.
You can go back to your menial jobs now.
