I disagree. We have yet to play consistently all season. We have no 2 game win streak, much less a 3 game win streak to our name. We have not beat a quality opponent (no - I don't consider Carolina a contender. They are limping, just like we are). We lost to Washington and NY.

Sure we MIGHT still make the playoffs, considering our strength of schedule. But I for one don't want to repeat 2003 - limping into the playoffs just because we saw a good number of garbage teams.

I am not impressed with a team that gets into the playoffs by beating the Arizonas and Titans of the world, but not the Indys or the Giants or the Saints (looking ahead).

In fact, I have yet to be impressed by this TEAM.

I have been impressed by Terrence Newman (although I think he is probably due for a poor game soon), I have been impressed with Andre Gurode, and Jason Ferguson, and Tony Romo, and Patrick Crayton, and our RBs, and Roy Williams (Yes - this is true - we are playing way too much cover two, and not everyone seems to see the effect he has - teams just do not throw strong side).

But i have yet to see this team play a great game. Last year they did - the first game of the season. Then they had spurts, but never put it all together again. This year we must put it together against the Colts, or they will beat us. We have to play our game, dictate how the game goes, and jell as a team.

If we drop this game, we are back to .500. After that, we could go as high as 11-5, but I would predict more like 10-6, 9-7, heck, maybe even 8-8 for the year.

The fact is - we need this game to a) solidify our swagger for the rest of the season and make a strong playoff run and b) if we make the playoffs, verify that we CAN hang with the big boys.

I'm tired of seeing the cowboys feel good about being a top 15 or even top 10 team. We have the talent that we should be in everyone's top 5 or 3, but the team has yet to force anyone's hand.

Please please please, for the first time this season, I want to see us more than 1 game over .500.

This is a critical game, but every game is when you are 5-4.

If we win this week, then next week is critical because we would be 6-5 if we win one and lose one.

I say the upside to beating the Colts would not only be winning two in a row and going 6-4, but it would prove to the team that we are capable of playing with the big boys.

Confidence is a great thing in sports.

We have a 2 game win streak this year. Wash then Tenn.

I completely understand what you mean if we dont win this week it is bad BUT we will have a few more chances as we mature and gel after if we lose... the division is that close.... now with that said I want to win and show consistency... but if we dont we have more chances... its just the way it is in the NFL

you say this game will make or break us - then admit we might still make the playoffs if we lose. if we make the playoffs, this season has been a success, and our future looks brighter than it has in ten years. from that point on, everyone starts from scratch and everyone has a shot at it. does this game make or break us? No...

Did you read the whole thing? Making the playoffs beating nothing but garbage isn't good enough and is NOT a success, any more than 2003 was a success.

Making the playoffs and actually beating quality opponents to make it there is impressive and gives us something. Going in based on schedule is not.

Ah - I stand corrected. I guess in my mind I consider each of those only half a win, since both teams are so pathetic.:laugh2:

You really cant look at it like that... Romo didnt start those games... he could be 3-0 right now.... so those games we lost with Drew dont mean anything to me... it truly is a NEW season these last 8 games.. now 7

this game could make us, but can't break us. if we win it's a huge victory, but if we loose we still are in great shape to make the playoffs. the most important games are those in our conference, second only to those in our division.if we win and loose to nfc teams then we still may not get into the playoffs.all games are important but those in your conf and division are by far the most important

I agree we could be. But if anything, the Washington showed me that this team can beat itself even with superb QB play.

Hopefully that was an exception, not a rule.

I will call it an "abberation" being that it was only our 3rd game of the season(Romo's season):D

This game will surely break us if we lose. On the other hand, if we were to win(I'm not getting my hopes up), it surely won't make us. What would that put us at? 1-3 against good teams?

My fear. Everyone who is so hyped up on this defense is going to be shocked at what Indy does to us. It's getting kinda old heraing about how good this defense is when we're giving up 20 points a game. I predict another mediocre outting for our secondary and no sacks on Manning.

I'll predict a win for the Cowboys, but only because I'm not ready to write the season off as a loss.

Cowboys- 38
Colts- 31

Romo shines better than Payton "The Golden Boy" Manning.

Romo- 4tds. 3 to Owens(64yds, 25yds, 7yds) and 1 to himself off a batted ball at the line of scrimage(who thinks like that?).

We already have one win over a team with a winning record (Carolina). A win over the Colts would be two.

We need to control the clock to win, otherwise Peyton is going to shred our cover 2 all day, exposing our weaknesses on defense...

if our defense steps up, I will be surprised and happy as hell.. but I don't see it.. we cann't get pressure on weak teams, let alone Manning, who has a credible offensive line..

One thing that may be in our favor, Manning has never played here on the big crown of this field, could be an advantage.

However, don't kid yourselves, if we lose this one, TB will be licking their chops. Playoffs are toast.

I still feel this is not a make or break game; it is big and could boost the confidence of this team. A loss and we are still in the playoff race but to make the playoffs Dallas would still have to win against other top teams in the NFC. So this notion of making the playoffs and not beating anyone is BS, we will have to beat top contenders in the NFC to make it regardless if we win against the Colts or not.

If we don't end up with four, it'll be very difficult to make the playoffs.

and we've played NINE games... and Carolina is just as IN-consistent as we are...

we need this one badly...

I think this is a catapult game. If we win this game in a dominate fashion then I think the team will really come to life. If we lose in an ugly fashion then it will only solidify that our team is inconsistent. If we barely lose this game, I don't think it will give us enough push to make a real run this season. In otherwords, if we don't win I think our season will end in disappointment.

Obviously I'm no Nostradamus, but I don't beleive in that anyhow!
