No way Denver isn't #1, IMO, not that #2 is far off.

Oh. Forgot about Denver. Those fans are pretty rabid, too. People in the surrounding states all hate the greenies/Broncos as a result.

Oh. And SEA, too, obviously.

Yeah, whenever I go back home, It's Broncos EVERYTHING. It really is a sight. A cool one.

this doesnt make sense...nothing but mediocrity for 17 years yet it is the most valuable franchise...that only happens with fanship.

Or else, there are a lot of people who still get a lot of enjoyment out of watching the Cowboys outside of the die-hard message board environment.

Yeah. Not sure how demoralized the last few years have made them, but my experience with them, they were really great fans, overall. Loyal. They knew the team stunk, but they loved Browns football, anyway.

They remind me of old school Cubs fans. Chip on their shoulder over the state of the team but heavily loyal and kind natured optimism.

I'd compare them to the Red Sox fans before 04. I'm guessing if they win, they'll be just as intolerable as Red Sox fans after 04 too.

That is a better example tbh Was using personal ref. I think some of that affect that happened to the RS fanbase relates to the city of Boston being so proud in of itself. Culture of some of their citizens type thing. Cleveland on the other hand would likely be more humble?(who knows)

NFL should be careful with their product. That's a lotta love for teams.

This list shows 2 storied franchises with a history of Championships and fans traveling everywhere... and teams who have recently done "a little something" in this watered down era of football!

In the most simplistic way, Forbes made their valuations of each franchise based upon the formula: equity minus net debt. Fanship does not factor in its equation in direct fashion.

I actually like our ranking. She it to the bozo fans of other teams who think we're fair weather fans. The truth is we haven't had a whole lot to cheer about since 1996 and we're still here. That says something. I was a little surprised 49er fans didn't make the list. As much as I can't stand that team, they do have some really loyal fans.

It kinda sorta depends what criteria you're looking for for your rankings. In the case of Dallas, or the Steelers for that matter, there certainly are a large number of fans, anyway. I don't think that should be the measure, though. I'm partial to the fans of downtrodden organizations who still show up enthusiastically after years of disappointment. Cleveland, maybe, or Kansas City would seem to be pretty good examples. Saints fans are a great example, though that team is good right now. They were awful for years and still had people dancing in the streets.

Chiefs fans don't show up when the team isn't good. Getting tickets to games is a piece of cake.

To be honest, I don't remember people making a big deal about Seattle's fans in any fashion before they started winning. I also resent the notion that the Cowboys are the only team with casual fans. There's no doubt in my mind that some so-called Steelers fans just like waving the yellow rag because its, you know, cool. And some of the so-called Raiders fans just like to dress up like clowns. Every fan base has bandwagoners, casual fans and idiots, but Cowboys fans get a bum rap because we are everywhere.

It's absolutely true that every team has some "oh, what the heck" fans who only pay attention when the team is doing great. The Steeler fans will deny it, but I know for a fact that it's true. I don't even see it as a bad thing. I'm a casual fan for other sports. If baseball happens to be on, I might watch a little of it, but it's no big deal to me. It doesn't make me a jerk. It's just not where my interest lies.

Boyi that's true. Remember the Miles Austin game 5 years ago when the stadium was half full of Cowboy fans?
