sorry, but this game just shows how much a good safety can accomplish this guy is a ball hawk he shoudl have more pics that two. i used to say roy roy roy was the best, better than reed but i cant anymore.

roy was a fs once in his dallas career =). plus we can double up on this thread, this is how much it helps to have a ball hawking safety! hopefully watkins can bet his guy.

Well he is a SS presently.

But yes... this is how a good FS takes the pressure off a guy like RW and would allow him to do his thing - stop the run and intimidate WRs.

you guys are hilarious.. all this based on this one game? Roy has had better stats than Reed in 4/5 seasons.. sure, Reed is having a great game.. but do you see how much pressure the Ravens' front 7 is getting on Manning?? Reed's picks have come off of outstanding pressure where Manning threw the ball up.. Roy hasn't benefiting from that kind of pressure at all.. not to mention the fact that Roy is a much better player in the box and against the run, which is what a STRONG SAFETY does.. even still, Roy has had more INTs and PDs than Reed over the last few seasons..

gotta agree with u. the only thing Roy had on Reed was he was a better tackler but with how bad a year Roy had tackling with so many missed tackles and not as many big hits they are both equal there now as well so yea Reed>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Roy

Simple Roy bashing. Reed is the best coverage safety in football, bar none. He is not as a effective against the run, though.

They are 2 different type of safeties.

Its like comparing a tailback to a fullback.

Obviously the fullback blocks better and the tailback runs the ball better.

Reed also has been beaten numerous times in coverage. His first interception could have been called back for pass interference on Ray Lewis (like Roy's INT for a TD was called back against Detroit), and his second one was a terrible overthrow.

Reed, like Roy, is one of the best safeties in the league. But to claim that he's somehow much better than Roy based on today's game is misguided.

actually the ravens havent been getting to much pressure they didnt get a sack till the 3rd or 4th quarter... what game are you watching?

Nope, you're wrong Adam. Ed Reed is way better than Roy Williams. Also, Tony Romo is way better than Peyton Manning and Steve McNair. It's clear to anyone who has been watching today.
