Look, this board is littered with Jimmah posts and Tuna hate. Jimmah failed miserably out of the cozy confines in Dallas with the triplets and every one of his "coaches" has flunked out of the NFL several times over. Worst NFL Coaching tree perhaps in the history of a superbowl winner

Butch Davis - LOL
Dave Wannstedt - ROTF
Norv "lackey for Al" Turner
Dave "5-11" Campo - oy vey

We need an OL and some playmakers on O.

Prerequisite - Tuna adds on 2 years. this is MANDATORY. That gives him 3 under contract the last of which he'll move to GM.

2 year deal at market price
No bonuses or incentives whatsoever
Ability to twice yearly burn the team (& mates) that shunned him
Hard Worker - practices hard
Tuna will corral this social misfit.

Failed miserably? :lmao:

I believe he made the playoffs every year he was in Miami.

If that's failing miserably, then what do you call last year and this season in Dallas?

Bellichek made Parcells. What has Parcells accomplished without Bellichek? What has Bellichek accomplished on his own? Who is doing a better job this season? What's Bellichek's excuse now? He lost both his coordinators and has arguably less talent to work with than Parcells on defense by far, yet they are going to make the playoffs in the much more competitive AFC.

Yes, this is a very cheap analysis but it is very similar to the analysis many of you are making about Jimmy Johnson.

Really?

Look, I dont know much about Parcells' history, I just dont have the time to research all of it, but are you telling me that the guy knows nothing about football and/or is only successful because of one person.

I think LTN or Kittymama stated that alot of Parcells' draftees are/have played very critical roles in the Patriots success.

Ya, playing the Jets twice, the Bills twice and the Dolphins twice is a real tough schedule.

You can ignore Jimmy Johnsons 3 Superbowsl....ahem....2 Superbowls by looking at his tenure in Miami. Likewise, if someone wanted to criticize Parcells, he could examine his success without Bellichek at his side by observing his tenure here.

It goes both ways

When did I say you couldnt?

I just threw some logic in there that the guy knows a little something about football and is not entirely an Empty Suit without Bill Belichek.

Bill B. probably benefited from having Parcells' assistants and dont you think during their time as PALS, the learning went both ways?

2003 was one of Bill Parcells best coaching jobs of his Career? The entire backfield was out of football the next year.

I never said he was an empty suit. I just made a point that cheap and unsubstantiate arguments can go both ways. I'm sure you equally agree that it is foolish to belittle Jimmy Johnsons' accomplishments by pointing to his tenure with the Dolphins.

the AFC east is known as the AFC LEAST. Without his top assistants, it is clear that the Pats are not what they were. Even accounting for their injuries.

Oh no no no

Trust me, lately I have been one of the guys that have loved to hate Parcells as far as his moves are concerned.

I think Jimmy and Parcells are good coaching and I am sure there is a little something to Parcells not as good without his assistant coaches.

Was Parcells a control freak type guy or did he normally just let his assistants like Bill B. and Crennel run things on their own?

If so, maybe he stuck in his ways, letting incompotent guys like Zimmer and Sean Payton run their own houses and they are just not up to it.

Mosley said he took the blame for this loss and he made a mistake by not overruling his assistant coaches.

Dont know

Okay, 3 years ago when I learned that Parcells was our head coach while chit chatting on a Madden Online Forum, I thought we would be a perennial playoff contender by now. I guess technically we are but I thought we would be much better.

So I am confused by all of this myself. I certainly thought the days of losing games because of poor coaching was behind us...clearly that is not the case.

Jimmy took over a team in Miami that had a winning record. ANd he never came close to building a dominating team that was even considered a SB contender. JJ had his one shot at fame in Dallas and the stars aligned. He did not show anything special from that point on.

Parcell's relationship with his coordinators is a healthy one. He is not a control freak. He allows them room to operate but he is still the head coach and the one who has final say.

I think Parcells and Jimmy Johnson are similar. I think both are excellent leaders and delegators. I don't think either of them are brilliant when it comes to strategy. People intuitively assume that a person is a better coach if he is better play caller and play designer. I think the leadership quality is greatly underappreciated. To be able to coach well, you have to earn the respect from your players. And to earn that respect, you have to exude leadership qualities. There are not many coaches that can achieve this in the NFL. Steve Mariucci comes to mind.

No thanks Sarge, I'm not going to exchange insults. I'd rather stick to the issue.

I'll ask you again since you are tip toeing around the issue. Do you think we are better than New England right now? Do you think we would beat them.

That's all I want to know.
