Flacco is an interesting QB.

His regular season stats are ordinary overall. They were terrible last year.

<Despite> the stats I've always felt he is a competent and perfectly capable QB. Kinda weird -- his stats don't really merit that.

I think one of the things I like about his game is his love of the long ball. The guy can't go a quarter without uncorking at least 1-2 long pass attempts. It's rare in today's game.

In summary, for reasons I don't fully understand myself, I kinda like Flacco.

He reminds me of Eli in some ways. He's inconsistent, but has put it together for at least one playoff run. That's all it takes.

Guy has great arm talent, probably the best in the league. The reason he was able to complete that bomb to Torrey Smith a couple of years ago to beat the #1 seeded Broncos in the divisional playoffs is because the trajectory of his deep ball is nearly impossible to defend. He throws it so high that the thing drops straight down. No one else has that kind of trajectory on their deep throws.

Nothing more here than a head coach trying to instill confidence in his quarterback in the playoffs.

No, it's a coach who believes what he's saying. And why not? The guy steps up when it counts. I don't think Flacco has a confidence issue.

He knows that isn't true but it's his QB, nothing wrong with him saying that. That's his boy and he does play damn good playoff football. Definitely not the best though.

Is it really news that a head coach hypes his QB? And despite his shortcomings the dude has ice in his veins during the post season. Has to count for something.

He is just like Eli to me. Both can do just enough to get by in the regular season(with a decent team around them) but elevate their games in the post-season.

Not great QB's but good enough if the rest of the pieces of puzzle are in place.

I heard the NFL immediately drug tested Harbaugh after this statement, surprisingly he passed.

I disagree.

The point of the post - as I made it - is he thinks Flacco is better than every QB playing in the league right now. It is NOT a post about Romo.

However, in MY opinion, I WILL take Romo "everyday and twice on Sunday."

He has a SB ring and there's no problem with a coach believing in his QB.

This thread is random and has nothing to do with the Cowboys except it is void of love for Romo.

That's interesting. Considering the Cowboys are an NFL Team and this is about a mans opinion on the best QB in the NFL right now.

If I had one game to win, Flacco would not be my choice at quarterback. However it should be pointed out that since 2008 Flacco has won 10 playoff games. No other quarterback in the league has won more than 5. So in the one area that matters most Flacco is pretty impressive.

10 playoff victories for Flacco?

Hard to argue with that.
