keep an eye on the Smith situation.

Alex would be a good backup candidate

yeah but my question is this, reports are that the Commanders asked some players to take a pay cut

now the 49ers are asking alex smith to take a pay cut, should the cowboys ask some cowboy players that under performed to take a pay cut too?

I think Spikes has a bit more left in his tank, but to me he's too similar to Bradie James. A physical 'backer better at going forward than going backward.

I think Dallas' next inside backer should be more of a coverage guy.

I've seen a lot of Smith's play. He needs stability and a better set of offensive coaches. He's got talent that has been poorly developed by a team that keeps changing their staff.

First Kerry Collins, and now Spikes? What's going on at Valley Ranch?

On the positive side, DeAngelo Hall got 30 Million guaranteed.

I know that cheered you up.

I'd agree with that.

At one point, Norv had him looking like a fine young quarterback.

I don't know a lot about him but I thought he was more of a Tampa 2 guy?

Well, he's definitely a younger option than my stop-gap choice Donnie Edwards.

he is a Tampa2 guy, but so is basically Kevin Burnett, and if we can't get a complete player at WILB, we could get a rookie who is more of a 2-down player, McKillop, Jasper Brinkley for instance, and put Cato June in the 46 and on passing downs

dude has 10 career INTs, former safety

What do you think about LSU's Darry Beckwith? I think he's just the sort of coverage 'backer this team could use next to James inside.

And the LSU connection wouldn't hurt either.

And why the hate for Ron Brace?
