This reminds me of 2010 when Clap took over and some here were all happy he imposed a dress pants policy so the team could dress for success etc. It is just optics.

This way Clap can act like he is in firm control but we all know he only wins because of Romo, not his coaching. If you want to cut someone for not wearing a suit, fine but don't make out like it has or will have any bearing on how the team does on the field.

Uh...Dress For Success is real. I know up there you can't see nice cloths because you have a HUGE overcoat on to keep from freezing.

If you look good, you feel good, if you feel good, you do good. I might be optics on TV...or would you rather have the team you root for show up in a bunch of "pant's on the ground" kind of stuff like some players wear on their normal days? While Dez was rehabbing, I saw a video of him driving around with I think he cousin...he looked like he just came out of the hood! You want him to show up to a game like that?

The thing also is...rules are rules if you want to play for the Cowboys.

I guess I am a <bit> surprised.

White seemed like a pretty decent CB4 and it's not like the team is brimming with talent in the defensive backfield.

Well..

I remember Jimmy Johnson cutting guys for sleeping in meetings.

It was Jimmy's way of getting the teams attention.

I see it for what it was.

But if you are part of the team..you take the rules seriously.

Or you are not part of the team.

I see nothing wrong at all.

You are either all in or not.

whats the veteran minimum salary.... $435,000 and he cant find a suite......no wonder the Cowboys lost 7 in a row....the players are IDIOTS.....willing to throw $400K job away over a dress code........How many ways can you spell stupid......CMIKE,, CWHITE.........howd that conversatation go with the wife...$400K to the unemployment line.....
NFL Players are IDIOTs, entitled whinners.... most cant earn a living at Walmart if wasn't for their god given talent......

Corey White was making 1.5m this year. He became a vested veteran after Week3 and is eligible for termination pay. He can get the entire amount from DAL if no one else signs him.

CMichael was making over 700k this year but he was getting cut anyways. When he received 0 touches after Randle got cut and McFadden was getting IVs, it was already over.

The dress code stuff is for the JG's ego. They kept Randle around for a lot worse until his suspension was announced.

What about that? Please explain why you posted that.

It seemingly goes deeper for both...and it wasn't just the Tampa Bay game regarding the dress code.

When the Cowboys played the Giants in NY...the team landed & went straight to the World Trade Center memorial for a tour & formal dinner. Pretty much everyone else was wearing a suit...the owners, all coaches, support staff, players, etc. White and Michael were not. They have 251 photos of the trip on DC.com. Michael boarding the plane to NY is pic #94...White is pic #49. Scroll down to the bottom of the page for the picture slideshow:

It is about him maintaining a semblance of control on a sinking ship.

"Drop the hammer" on two guys you were going to cut anyways and get the team's attention.

Cutting guys for a dress code violation is beyond ridiculous when you allow a hundred other things.

It's absolutely no different than Jimmy cutting a bottom of the roster guy for sleeping in meetings, while also allowing "a hundred other things".

Twitter gaffes, sideline outbursts, locker room blow ups, late to meetings, missed meetings, missed assignments, mental errors, unforced penalties, dropped passes, lackadaisical play, quitting on the team, attacking the owner, dui arrests, shoplifting arrests, weed suspensions, etc....

Would you mind if I steal this post?

I could make some lyrics with these words.
