Twitter gaffes, sideline outbursts, locker room blow ups, late to meetings, missed meetings, missed assignments, mental errors, unforced penalties, dropped passes, lackadaisical play, quitting on the team, attacking the owner, dui arrests, shoplifting arrests, weed suspensions, etc....

Excellent points my friend.

People need to get off their high horse and realize that the Cowboys are just like any other company.........how you perform and your value to the organization will determine exactly how much extracurricular activities the organization will put up with.

If you are a scrub player, you dam well better follow every rule to the letter. However, if you are one of the best pass rushers in the entire NFL, it doesn't matter if you totally blow off meetings, show up late, or have allegations of beating up your girlfriend. Its like back in the day when Emmitt Smith would sit in team meetings and play dominoes while the coaches were talking. Emmitt knew the coaches would do jack about it and he was right.

please, if they weren't scrubs, no way Captain Clap would have cut them. Romo could show up to the team plane in cut offs and flip flops and Clap would say, nice shorts Tony.

Lmbo

Excellent

yeah , but they are scrubs. So, you know, theres that.

Its not about the dress code, its about rules and being part of a team.
It is no big deal when youre winning. But when you lose 6/7 straight, then it is a big deal.

If the rules were to wear sweat pants and a ball cap, and you show up in jeans and a tshirt.

Why? Why even have rules. Let everybody just do what they want......

Which is fine when youre winning. When your losing...........................not such a good idea.

When everything is going well on my projects.....i dont care, take the afternoon off.....go, get away from me and the cubicle. do whatever you want,

when its not going good. And were behind or over budget. I suggest, if you want to keep your job, dont take the afternoon off..........................

I can see it now

Vehicular manslaughter OK
Domestic Violence OK
Shoplifting and weed OK

Dress code violation FIRED

It is the "process" at work ! lol
But they were stupid to not conform for the money they made.

When your one of the guys that hasnt shown much on the field, you better go along with whatever your HC wants you to do.
Be a RKG for the money.
these bkups have the easiest jobs , for fairly big money. Blowing that is just plain stupid.

Wasn't Corey White the guy that hid $100 somewhere in Levi's stadium during the preseason game so he could retrieve it in Feb? Maybe he lost hope in Dallas making it to the superbowl. Look for him to sign with New England.

This is just one of those old rules no one really puts any thought into because they think there is some truly great subtle meaning to it all. If you really pushed Garrett on it, he'd look dumbfounded after letting countless players off the hook for far worse incidents.

It's a stupid rule, but just wear the damn suit to make the coaches happy.

Corey White was making 1.5m this year. He became a vested veteran after Week3 and is eligible for termination pay. He can get the entire amount from DAL if no one else signs him.

CMichael was making over 700k this year but he was getting cut anyways. When he received 0 touches after Randle got cut and McFadden was getting IVs, it was already over.

The dress code stuff is for the JG's ego. They kept Randle around for a lot worse until his suspension was announced.

They kept Randle around becuz DMAC had his hamstring issue and nobody knew if he could take the carries.

Once they knew he coyld..and the suspension was coming g..

Randle was done.

I think the same thing about Michaels.

DMAC is still dealing with some dings but he is playing thru it.

Once they had another RB in Turbin..

He was gone

It seems to have taken most of the year..

but give the Cowboys credit..

the have gotten it right.

Finally..huh?

Bummer, but rules are rules. If you work at Burger King they even have a dress code. I liked Corey White. He should have wore a hoodie.

Rules for the bottom of the barrel guys. The starters or top players can wear jeans and a shirt and they get fined. Won't get cut.

I don't disagree that the players were stupid.

I just think those kind of rules are also stupid.

They wore warm-ups on the train ride to SD from Oxnard and looked fine.

Suits on a private plane, to a private bus, to a private hotel is a dumb rule. Clothes don't make the man.

The NBA instituted a suits only rule for players not in uniform at the games and most people realized it was because the players were being accused of being too urban. Too many tattoos, jewelry and low jeans.
As much as I think sometimes rules are made for the "too urban" reason, I wish this rule was more popular in sports. I would rather kids want to look sharply dressed like their sports heroes than sloppy like a lot of fashion now.

How does Josh Brent jive with that theory?

Brent averaged 10 tackles a year over his illustrious career.

While isn't not exactly in the rule book or team room, committing vehicular manslaughter and killing a teammate must have to to rank a bit higher in the list of team no-no's than neglecting to put on your blazer.

Being cut due to the dress code was C-Mike's and White's conjured-up tale, devised to divert the real blame from themselves. Those in charge, JG included, state they were sent packing due to poor practice habits and generally being locker room distractions. Both were under very intense scrutiny every day and found wanting, according to Garrett. Personally, I'm thinking that's exactly what you're likely to get with birdbrains. Dress code, my eye.

When it comes to dress code, the Dallas Cowboys don't mess around.

There are reports stating that the Cowboys cut running back Christine Michael and cornerback Corey White for not wearing suits on the team’s road trip to Tampa Bay to play the Buccaneers Nov. 15.

White confirmed the report, according to the Dallas Morning News:

Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Corey White told TMZ.com he was, in fact, cut for not wearing a suit in the team's road trip to Tampa Bay last weekend.

White told the website he wore "slacks and a button down," but that doesn't adhere to the team's dress code for road trips. A Cowboys coach told White he was cut because the cornerback wasn't wearing a suit, White reportedly told TMZ.com.

"I'm not angry," White reportedly said. " ... It's the rules."

You get cut for not wearing a suit but not for slapping a clipboard out of a coaches hand

Hmmmmm

Probably due to the FO/coaches thinking he probably was the best option at 1 tech.

Anyone who thinks White was cut simply because he didn't follow the dress code, I have beachfront property on Mars I'd like to sell you.

I'm pretty sure had Tyron Smith or Dez Bryant shown up in a button down shirt and slacks, he'd still be on the Cowboys roster.
