He's a local kid...

His mom hinted at this last week around these parts...

She said after he asked Rodriguez his role in his system Rodriguez told him "You can stay if you want"...

I don't blame him as he would ride the rock in that offense...

He's got a lot of upside, a rifle arm and is a good kid...

Considering Tennessee, Arkansas, Texas A&M, and UCLA

Well, if I were a betting man, I'd probably say UCLA. They just hired Neuheisel as there head coach. That guy is about as good a cheater as there is in college sports. Heck, if USC isn't careful with Carroll, they might end up seeing half there recruiting class at UCLA.

Well that certainly would make you want to stay.

Michigan never hurts for WR's.

They lost their two best, their WR Coach/recruiter.

And we will see how much those michigan WRs come into play with rod.

Exactly... it's not exactly a ringing endorsement. At least he could have still gotten an education...

I don't blame Rodriguez... he has to get his guys in place, but Mallet is a legitimate talent...

Tressel should hit him up... wouldn't THAT flame the rivalry even more... :D

If Manningham and AA are leaving because of the new coaching staff, then they probably should be leaving if they were content getting pasted by Ohio State every year.

Manningham could be good on his day, but you never know if you are getting the Capital One Bowl Manningham or the Manningham that shows up to play against Ohio State...

Adrian Arrington is like taller Jason Avant. Michigan craps those kind of WR's out on a consistent basis and I really dont know who the hell he thinks he is leaving school early.

.

Thats funny, the kid diddnt even bother calling RRod back.

"I did it a couple times (with Mallett)," he said earlier Tuesday on the Jim Rome radio show. "I recruited him once, I recruited him twice, and after the third call, I'm thinking, 'OK, three calls is enough for me.' It's a great institution, and if somebody doesn't want to be here that's already here, you wish them well and move on."

Mallet has already been through this transfer drama last year. If he doesnt want to commit, screw him.

Guys like Mallet aren't there to get an education. They are there to get into the NFL and hopefully be a top draft pick. It makes no sense for him to stay at Michigan.

And I have to agree with Brain and Dallas, this is Bill Callahan all over again. That offense will not work in the Big 10 when they have to face top run defenses on a regular basis. I give Rod 2 years. Their recruiting is going to go to heII too. They will lose a lot of quality QB's and receivers in that offense.

I think Neuheisel is THE most hyped coach in college football. He inherited a great Colardo program and ran it into the ground once it joined the Big 12 and this was when the only team he had to worry about was Nebraska since OU and Texas sucked at the time. He then had a great 11-1 season at Washington but then made that program worse b going 7-6 in his final year. He didn't do anything for the Ravens this past year. He is always a prospect because of the hype he has built since he was at Colorado and his career as an athlete. He was just a young coordinator and ex-UCLA QB so a lot of people WANTED to like Rick Neuheisel back then and the hype machine continued. He won't svck at UCLA but he is won't do anything to warrant his hype there either. He is above average coach that is talked about as if he is the second coming of Pete Caroll.

At least he didn't come off like he did with Scott McBrien when he got to WVU. Word is he just told him flat out that he could not play in his system. So Scott transferred to Maryland and had a decent stay there.

There was also a player that was going to transfer once RR came to WVU. In his case he was smart enough to get his transfer papers from the previous coach before he officially stepped down.

When he went to RR to tell him he was going to transfer RR told him that he would not approve the paper work. The guy pulled out the papers already signed and said that he did not need RR's approval.

Yeah it needs some more flaming. :D

Tressel's going after the guy Rodriguez really wants Terrelle Pryor.

It will be interesting to see who will win that one.

I'm sure people think he will just go to Michigan because of the spread...but we'll see.:D

I didn't say he was any good. I said he cheated better then anybody else. I would not be surprised to see a lot of high ranking recruites finding there way to UCLA. If USC loses Carrol, UCLA will become the destination for a great many of those players IMO.
