Fox Sports poll: Who is the MVP frontrunner? (No Prescott)

Being a great quarterback does not mean you score every single drive. If that ever happened a team would score 50 a game. It means you score most times and the Cowboys are doing that. By having no run game for the first time this year that meant the receivers were much more tightly covered. Look at any other team when the running game is bad. The Eagles have fallen way off with Barkley so bad. Dak was again brilliant. If the defense plays adequately they win this game easily. They absolutely need the run game they have had until this game to return right away. And for the defense to simply play their assignments like they did last week and they will be fine.

Why is Mahomes 2nd on that list?
Because he consistently wins!

Because he consistently shows up in big games!

Because he consistently makes plays in the 4th quarter to win games!

Because he moves the chains with his legs consistently when he needs too!

Because he’s clutch in big games!

Because people that pick the MVP know he is the best QB in football even if his stats don’t show it!

Agreed but after week 6, Baker is out to a commanding lead.
Baker's stats are not that far off from like 6-7 other QBs. That's the issue, this league has made QB play easy mode.

Darnold, Jones, Rodgers, Stafford, Goff, and Maye all are doing similar to what Baker is doing. The first 3 you can actually see have made an impact since they are on a new teams and elevated them.

I am still waiting for Yobwocs to respond to this post….
I already explained 2022. I wrote it on the McCarthy thread..... go back and check. First post on page 10.

"If I remember correctly, 2022 was the year Kellen Moore called the plays. His play calls were egregious. High risk, hopeless shots into the middle of the field. Not understanding the QB's strengths. Dak throws a lot of fastballs with low trajectory. Especially dangerous passes going into the middle of the field. They're easily intercepted. Also his receivers weren't on the same page as his newly lab minted, self concocted playbook employed by no other coordinator in the NFL.

Dak's league leading interceptions that year was mostly on Moore. When McCarthy took over playcalling next year Dak's interceptions instantly went down. Coincidence huh?"

So yes...... I reiterate...... 2022 was primarily Kellen Moore. Who the hell could understand his hot garbage playbook? He's gonna get any Quarterback throwing 15 INTs if they're lucky. Only reason Spencer Rattler isn't throwing INTs is because he's conservative by nature..... he has 5.6 yards per attempt which is 31st in the league.

Are we gonna act like Dak sucked for the year? Didn't he spank the Eagles, Lions, and Bucs that year? I get it's a 8-9 Bucs team, but that was Tom Brady - who could get hot and force a shootout on you when you're least expecting. In spite of his record.... he's hard to beat at home. He sucked against the 49ers, but that was definitely not a bad year overall.

2024...... so a Top 5 QB not looking Top 5 for one half of a year and you're gonna hold it against him?

just my opinion....but if they arent in the playoffs, he aint winning. Hate the way its done all you want--but it is so extremely rare an MVP in any sport comes from a non playoff team. Its just the way its done.

So basically the polar opposite of Dak.

McNabb says Dak is MVP

McNabb doesn't know squat, MVP is most valuable player, Baker has literally willed his team to three wins in game winning drives with no time on the clock. Dak hasn't ever ever had the game on the line or been in a game where he's the reason that hisvteams one down both top WR’s and everyone on the line out, starting rb out. He's the guy that out, not the one scrambling on third and lone to keep drive alive, etc. Just give it up, at this point its Baker bc he's winning and overcoming adversity.
