9. Dallas Cowboys
There's a new regime in Dallas, as the Wade Phillips era starts in 2007. Whether this is a positive or a negative is yet to be seen. At the very least, there's new blood in the locker room. Roster-wise, the Cowboys picked up a lot of new talent in the off-season. Ken Hamlin will join Roy Williams for a pretty lethal starting safety combo, and offensive tackle Leonard Davis — a former top pick of the Arizona Cardinals — comes to Dallas with a lot to prove. Brad Johnson joins the Cowboys as a reliable backup quarterback who will help guide Tony Romo's growth as well. In the draft, Dallas scooped up the guy they wanted all along in Anthony Spencer, while picking up the Browns 2008 first round pick in the process. Cowboys fans chanted "Jerry Jones! Jerry Jones! Jerry Jones!" after the Brady Quinn trade. The Dallas faithful has reason to be happy.
Biggest gain: Leonard Davis, OL
Biggest loss: Jason Fabini, OL

Are they in better shape than they were in January? It depends. As horribly as the season ended for Dallas, they did make the playoffs and came a bad snap and some luck short of a shot at the Bears. They play seven games in primetime next year — we'll have plenty of opportunities to determine whether they're better than the '06 version.

If your biggest loss is Fabini, you are in good shape.

It is a loss only in the sense that he is no longer on the roster.

id say or biggest loss was Al Johnson.. he wasnt a starter for us last year but when he did start he didnt do too bad and he provided great insurance as 1 of the better back up Centers in the League.. or Kenyon Coleman might have been the biggest Loss but he got sooo much money from the Jets..

All in all no big losses.

My thoughts exactly.

Most I have seen list Bledsoe as our biggest loss as if losing your washed up 2nd string QB will ruin your season. :laugh2:

That shows, just how good of team we've been building were we're not losing any major parts to our team. We just keep adding and adding. The future looks bright boys

I'm very optimistic about our season, but then I also was last year. We were playing well and then the defense just tanked it & our defense couldn't stop anybody including the lowly Lions; Romo also has problems in last 5 or so games.

From everything I've heard, Leonard Davis has been busting his butt in our offseason weight conditioning program and Cowboys coaching staff very pleased with him; same goes for Hamlin. I wonder how Flozel is doing in the program and what he will do in T/C & preseason games. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Doug Free will look good which would really push Flozel since he in last year of his contract.

Whats good about the this team is that we are pretty much healthy and pretty loaded at each position. Flozell should have a pretty good season since he know this is his last chance to cash in. He is entering this season healthy and ready to go. I think we are going to be pretty impress with Davis and I only hope that Columbo gets better.

Pretty good analysis but like most 'experts' seems to be sitting on the fence when it come to the Cowboys. Schrager makes a judgement on most teams apart from the Cowboys and suggests the Chargers will slip next year.

I didn't even know Jason Fabini was lost, and hope he'll be found, back in NY, I guess.
Chargers did have some close games, squeaking past Seattle, and even struggling against Oakland, until VJ's unthoughtful celebration 'fumble' was correctly ruled a forward pass.
Their loss to NE was sickening...not even the Cowboys can lose a game THAT grotesquely!
San Diego WILL find a receiver among one of those guys, probably the rookie 5th round draft choice, who looks like Anquan Boldon already. And Weddle will take charge of their defense.
And the Cowboys are WAY ahead of their rivals this offseason.
Dallas and San Diego will play the big game in Phoenix.
