31 other teams weren’t necessarily looking for a DE at that point or even had Clark on their boards’.

Rule of Thumb dictates you always take the domestic violence guy over the pot head.

Always.
Taking the guy more likely to go to prison over the guy that might get a suspension doesn't really seem like a rule of thumb.

For all those that say the Cowboys could have had Frank Clark, this type of thing happens through out the NFL EVERY year. There was a player who kept getting passed over to the tune of 198 picks but in the 6th round and pick 199 Tom Brady got drafted. A first time ballot got passed by 198 times and people here talk about the Cowboys passing on Frank Clark.

I guess if you go with probabilities. How many domestic violence offenders repeat vs pot heads?

Im glad the RKG era is over

We need to get some goons on this team. Especially on defense

Every team needs an enforcer....maybe 2. The Cowboys of the 90's became great once they traded for Charles Haley !!! #94 was bat-**** crazy, struck fear into the other team, talked smack to everyone from Jerry to Mike Fisher...and he backed up his words on the field.

That your riding the jackass backwards.

It's true though. It's way, way easier to know what should be done after the fact. The Cowboys should also have drafted Joe Montana. According to their draft evaluations at the time, he was the best player available. Now it's obvious they should have taken him. However, at the time, they had three quality quarterbacks in Staubach, Danny White, and Glen Carano. They didn't know Staubach was going to retire, so Montana would have been a 4th quarterback, and Landry thought he would just end up getting cut. Now it seems super obvious. You draft Montana and trade Danny White for the best draft pick or player you can get. At the time, it wasn't so obvious, however. The team also could have gotten Junior Seau and Randy Moss. It's just way tougher before you have hindsight.

As much fun as it is to bash on Garrett, let's move on from this sort of thing. Garrett is just ashes in the past as far as we're concerned. Off to a bright new future for us.

RKG is code word for i cant handle certain personalities. When Dez was mad garrett never approached. When Hardy was acting a fool Garrett never approached. I remember gregory getting a personal foul. Upon coming to the sideline garrett tried to talk to him like the puss that he is and gregory basically ignored him. They only got gregory because he's mild mannered. Clark is a loud dog. Garrett can't handle that

How many other teams passed on him? Why dwell on missed opportunities when all teams have them?

part of it has to do with the fact that you drafted his position immediately before he was taken, and then what you got from that pick relative to Frank

Yeah, but pretty much every team could say that about almost every player. What's the point?

the point is those teams aren’t the cowboys, and those other players didn’t turn out to be the difference in his team going to the SB

hahah, we were far from 1 player away from the SB. Did you see how this team did against the Eagles? There was a whole bunch of quit in them. One player wouldn't have made a difference.

And he’s talking ish about how he’s the best and he stopped Henry but they won because of Mahomes and he surely wasn’t the one who stopped Henry lol. Y’all can have them egotistical me dudes we already have enough of them.
Holding Henry to 69 yards was also a huge reason why they won.
