I think we should go very hard after Eric Steinbach. He is a guard that can play tackle. He is young, aggressive and talented. I watched him play at Iowa and the guy never quits. Get rid of Rivera and plug Steinbach in. Resign Marc Columbo and GUrode and the line is fixed. Next get Adalius Thomas linebacker. The guy is a beast. Next Asante Samuels cb from New England. This guy was amazing this year. No one got separation on him this year. A sure tackler. Place him in Henrys spot and move Henry to free safety where he had his best year in Cleveland. If we can afford him the last guy would be Dwight Freeney DE of Cincinnati. Still young with nonstop motor would be perfect opposite Ware. Lots of money but I feel those additions puts us in the super bowl!

Not going to happen,, Thomas and Freeny will be tagged,, no way their teams let them leave and its very likely that Steinbach is tagged as well. I doubt very much that we will pay Samuels what he is looking for,, I do not expect a big splash in FA this year at all.. maybe a couple of solid players that can provide depth and play special teams. With 10 Draft picks and not that many holes to fill.. I think we don't need to go big in FA either.

You've been playing Madden way too long.

Get a grip.

We may get one high priced FA but certainly no more than that.

How many high priced FA's does NE, Indy or Pitt sign every year?

Case closed.

Just give me Eric Steinbach and I consider this FA period a success.

yeah, I would like a vet QB but looking at the list as of right now there sure are some slim pickings.

Damon Huard will probably demand more then we want to pay and I'm not sure Kerry Collins is the right fit. Jeff Garcia will probably want a shot at being a starter. After those 3 you have guys like Todd Bouman, Koy Detmer, Tim Rattay, Anthony Wright and Jim Sorgi.

Sorgi may be ok but he's a restricted FA.

Some guys of interest for me (not named Steinbach, Dielman, Edwards, Samuel)...

Ken Lucas...I know he is not available now, but I think Carolina is going to release him. I'd just take a flyer on him because he was real good in Sea a couple years ago.

Jordan Babineuax...He's restricted, but he was undrafted. He can play both FS and CB, giving us some flexibility.

Rod Hood...He is s decent CB and a very solid special teamer.

Leonard Davis...I would not break the bank for this guy, but something tells me there is more to him than what he has shown so far.

Tim Rattay...Think he would be a very solid back up.

Mike Gandy...Versatile lineman who can play both G and T.

Antwaan Peek...Tweener guy who seems well suited to be a 3-4 OLB.

Randall Gay...RFA, but undrafted. Nothing spectacular, but solid.

Najeh Davenport...Always like him and he can play both FB and HB. Might not work out with the numbers in backfield, but he is a versatile guy to consider.

Obviously we cannot sign all of them, these are just some dudes who could help. Still not sold on Gramatica and would actually endorse the unthinkable...drafting a K.

Carphalen i see Davenport play because i live in the midwest (chi town sub) and i wouldn't waste the gas on bringin Davenport here if people thought JJ was bad at "running into piles" then they would hate this guy with an undying passion

I believe Jerry Jones was quoted as saying "we will certainly be aggressive in free agency this year"...

He was effective in GB and he is a good receiver out of the backfield. He is not a make or break guy for me, just someone I have always had interest in.

Rivera was effective in GB to.....let him retire and find FA to replace him... the Cowboys need a strong running game and the OL still is the weakest link on the team....

Other than both playing for GB what does Rivera have to do with the kind of player Davenport is?
