Free has ben told to take paycuts and everyone is constantly on the lookout for his replacement here. I think he has to have some thick skin or he would have already folded up shop by now.

With Leary being so young, I can understand if he was salty because of this. At the same time, it's professional football. It's meant to be competitive. And Collins is making peanuts from an NFL standpoint, so it's not as if his contract forces him into the starting lineup. If you're Leary, you go out there and try to win the battle and keep the starting job.

If you got paid millions to be below average at your job, you probably wouldn't complain either.

LOL still trying to push that mess? Funny how that 'below average' guy kept your boy on the bench. Sorry, but I'll trust actual real live NFL talent evaluators opinions over some self proclaimed internet youtube guru.

Whitsworth ( I think that is his name) from the Bengals dare them the to draft his replacement. They did better than that. They drafted two OL back to back. It is a business.

An NFL team signed Parnell to a big contract.

It's all on film. It's not like some secret.

And the Oakland Raiders signed Larry Brown to a five-year, $12-million contract with $3.5 million guaranteed back in the day.

You're right. Jacksonville. A true testament to winning football and sound football decisions.[/quote

The Jags have a new GM and HC in the past 3 years. They are legit NFL football people.

If they paid him that much other teams had to be in the mix to sign him.

My guess is that you've never studied the game footage. You can always find opinions on both sides of any issue on the internet. At some point you have to be able to judge for yourself based on game footage or just stay ouy of it and admit you don't really know.

The poster said he would believe real NFL people over internet scouts.

It's a business and if a player doesn't see that then he needs to grow up
I don't see it as a threat to free anytime soon
I think he will compete with Leary at guard and all Leary has to do is beat him out in camp
Leary has experience going for him. Collins I think will be a better run blocker
Competition and depth are both good things

And that was a real NFL team signing a player from a successful team to a contract not worth his actual talent level. It has happened before and it happened again.

People thought Ron Stone was way overpaid as a backup on a team with a great OL. He went on to 3 Pro Bowls and 2x All Pro.

There is no proof either way, but the poster said he would believe real NFL people over non professionals. The Pros said he was worth a big contract.

The comedy is that people have these big opinions and they probably have not spent 2 minutes reviewing the game footage for themselves.

When I heard Ben and Skin they were just guessing on that issue.

It would make sense to invite only the All Pros.

I don't know. Free is the guy who they all look to as the leader. But I certainly wouldn't want to have to feed five OL.

Based on the press conference Tyron is the one he most related to, in part because Tyron hosted him when he was making college visits and is is NFL idol.

It is also not common place for people to develop unhealthy attractions for backup players and obsess over them to the point that they view the all-22 with a box of tissues handy.

I am pretty certain if the organization valued Parnell as much as you do, he would be extended. You can down Free all you want, but in the grand scene of things, they prefer him to Parnell and always have.

It already is. :)

If people have spent several hours studying the issue and disagree then fine, but these guys have not done that.

Free was much much cheaper. It is not a direct comparison.

When Murray took the Eagles money, there was an immediate and palpable reaction from the club. They were disappointed. Even prior to that, there was a brief courtship. None of that existed with Parnell.

Just heard that on Ben and Skin.

Makes more sense now. I can't imagine them going to Jerrys house to try and talk this guy into playing in Dallas.

Also, just saying, I would feel a little betrayed by my teammates if I were Free and Leary.

Good possibility they weren't asked to come. Jerry probably only wanted to show Collins his Pro Bowl, first-round picks ... to say, how'd you like to be a part of this?
