They are in the big game and we aren't. Just hope Green Bay beats them. It's like trying to pick who the better guy was: Hitler (pittsburgh) or Stalin (green bay) Close, but you have to go with Stalin by a nose....

umm thats a stretch..everyone here loves going to the extreme but Free, Kosier and Gurode are just fine.....find replacements for Davis and Columbo and we are in business....and chances are one of those two starts next season

Next Season Columbo and Davis, the following year replace Kosier and then Gurode. The line needs to get younger and better.

The only problem I had with cutting Adams is the same problem I had with cutting Ken Hamlin: You leave your team short on contingency plans.

Free obviously needed to replace Adams at LT, but when we cut Adams, we left ourselves without any options behind Free and Colombo. So we had to go get a scrub like Alex Barron.

The one thing I give Bill Parcells credit for is that he obsessed over having contingency plans in case of injury or in case things didn't work out as he envisioned them.

Phillips didn't buy into that line of reasoning. Here's hoping Garrett does. Don't get rid of players until you know for certain you have their replacements in hand, including in the backup role ... unless you have to cut them for cap purposes.

Up until 2009 Flo was doing fine as regarding blocking. Penalties were still a pain but even they were overblown by morons. 2009 you saw him starting to decline where he could no longer handle the top guys by himself. So I would hope that Free was at least as good as that with the hope experience would make him better. I think Free did better than we could have really expected. He is not as good at pass blocking as the Hotel was in his prime, but he is better at run blocking.
