Here's a wonderful story about a team that has brought into a team-first concept. Is it any wonder the coaches who are bringing this approach to this team used to coach in Dallas.
The problem with the Cowboys is that they have too many stars, and backups, who think they are stars.
During the season, several players thought about their contracts rather than what was happening on the field.
Two weeks ago I asked Tank Johnson was asked about his future and he said, "I can't wait to get out of here."
In the middle of the season, Ken Hamlin seemed to be more upset with a story written about his stolen rims than what was being said about him and his teammates on the field.
When Anthony Spencer was rehabbing from a hamstring injury, he didn't seem interested to get to the practice field. He walked slowly with his head down and mumbled when he spoke. I asked Spencer about this and he said he didn't like rehab, but understood it was a neccesity.
Then there was Martellus Bennett himself. After Jason Witten said he hoped that Bennett and Tony Curtis would be ready to play because there was a chance he would miss a game with injury, Bennett said he didn't care what Witten said.
When Bennett was asked about when was the last time he talked to Witten, and he said he doesn't. Later in the season, the two did speak. But Witten, one of the toughest guys on the team, wanted to be respected by Bennett.
The rookie wasn't trying to hear it.
Terrell Owens seemed to have more passion about what was said on ESPN than what was being said about him in his own locker room.
Too many stars, not enough playmakers. That's the problem with the Cowboys.
Now, Wade Phillips says he wants to be a New York-tough guy to fix this mess.
Sure.

Tank was such a Beast this season. I hope Jerry can get him to change his mind.
I hope that loser doesn't even get an offer from another team.
We already know Spencer could care less about rehab. We saw that on Hard Knocks.
I would bet a million dollars Bennett had more missed assigments than any other offensive player on this roster. He has no respect for his teammates...

He could have all the athletic talent in the world, but he's just a big doofus with a poor attitude.
