Marvel and ABC have released the first full trailer for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and announced the series will air on Tuesdays at 8:00pm starting this Fall on ABC. The trailer suggests not every member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s favorite clandestine organization is privy to the fact that Agent Coulson survived his bout with Loki in The Avengers, which could make for an interesting subplot on small and big screens alike.
Joss Whedon’s involvement can be heard almost immediately in all of the snappy dialogue, but beyond that, this series shows promise in being able to flesh out the live-action Marvel Universe. Having Coulson in charge of a team monitoring and, when needed, confronting super-powered beings could lead to the inclusion of many Marvel characters that might not make the cut for a film. More importantly, the tagline of “Not All Heroes Are Super” is a great way of driving home the point that even “ordinary” people can overcome extraordinary obstacles to save the day.
