The best way to handle non-stop scrutiny and criticism (aside from winning a Super Bowl of course) is to make fun of yourself. He just keeps that happy-go-lucky thing going and it's like he doesn't let all the negativity get to him. Say what you want about him, but he just comes off as a good guy and is certainly a hell of a football player.
As much as I hated the Niners, I always respected Steve Young. Montana treated him like trash, the media labeled him as one of the guys that couldn't win the big one, but he always remained classy. I couldn't help but respect that. I can't say that I was even remotely happy to see the 49ers win that SB in '94, but it was good for a guy like Young.
Obviously, I want the Cowboys to win a SB - period. But I would feel especially happy for the players that are good, hard-working, classy guys like Ware, Witten and Romo (and others). Man how ESPN and the rest of the football world would hate to see Romo and the Cowboys hoist the Lombardi again.
