Fuzzy Thoughts After vs SF

He overran some other things. And seemed to be chasing more than he was anticipating. He tackled okay aside from the over runs but he seemed confused to me on multiple snaps. He seemed to calm down in the second half.

I really need to see the all-22 stuff because I will also say that he was asked to do a lot. He played that nickel role in place of Moore and sucked at it. His work on the back end was better. He also seemed to struggle with that underneath coverage to help the corner on cover 3. It's hard to tell without knowing the playcalls but I can only say what I thought I saw.

I didn't realize that Wilcox played as the Nickelback. Who replaced him at Safety?

I think "horrible" was a little left of center. He had a bad play on the Vernon Davis TD, but I otherwise liked that our safeties tended to limit the deeper passes.

Now if you wanted to go after Brandon Carr a little bit, go right ahead. I was a big fan his first year here, but his level of play has been in steady decline since he picked off Roethlisberger when the Steelers were in town. I think he might find himself out of a Dallas uniform after this year. Orlando Scandrick is very clearly our best cornerback with Morris behind him.

I'm not 100% certain that Wilcox was at fault on the Davis TD. He probably should have carried him deeper in this zone, but he should have had deep help, IMO.

Really hard to know who is at fault there, I agree. You don't know if the play design called for Wilcox to carry coverage if the WR leaves his zone. I agree, if your not blitzing, then it seems like you should have deep help. Four receivers in the pattern, one back released.

I noticed he was playing it in the second half. He gave up a big third down to Boldin because he had flat responsibility and dropped back instead. It looked like it was Carr's mistake, but they were playing Cover 3 and he had deep coverage.

Dez still has his head up his butt. He needs to quit ranting and start saving it for the field. He was worthless in the second half.-

HMMMMMM THAT HIT HAD NOITHING TO DO WITH IT

and Romo can not throw the long ball anymore the one he did complete was Harris's dping

Stupid throw by Chuck and Duck that could have cost us our best player.

How many hundreds of times have people posted "Just throw it up for Dez!" on this board? That's what he was doing.

Even if that safety wasn't there and there was no pick, Dez would have taken that hit. That's what happens when you just 'throw it up for Dez.'

I am pretty sure when people want to see more of the "just throw it up to Dez" they are not talking about into triple coverage. There are oportunities with Dez to throw a few "jump balls" and that was not one of them.

Good point. The hit on Dez was separate from the bad read of the underneath guy that got the INT.

1. I believe it was Jeff Heath.

2. Yes, he should have carried him deeper, but after looking at it again it appears as if he was covering the mid zone and expected help over the top, or for the CB to carry up the deep third.

Wilcox, upon second review, actually played really well with all that they asked him to do. I still see more of the same though -- coaching staff asking way too much of players throughout a game instead of playing more like Seattle - rush the passer, press man outside, fly to the ball carrier with speed/force. Disappointing to see we're doing the same complex crap that has our players thinking instead of reacting since the Wade years.

I foresee a very tall cornerback that runs like the wind, yet finds a home in zone coverage....

Enlighten us, O' exalted one!!

The only reason we are consistently an 8-8 team is we have 2 or 3 games every year that we cannot explain. This game was one of them.

I think that a lot of teams have those games. They just win more because they are better so they end up at 10-6 or 11-5.

Tony started out slinging the ball pretty good. I could only stomach two offensive series but he was fine there. I'll have a look at the All 22 when it comes out and see if I can spot an injury or look at his mechanics. I'm not great with QB mechanics but I'll give it a look see for something obvious.

Since we went 3 straight posts with cliches - I added my favorite. In the end, nothing I can do about it, not gonna worry myself into a frenzy if I cant change it.

My ex-wife has taught me alot. Uniary thinking makes somethings in life alot simpler - I dont really care the shade of crazy - dont really care how it got there. I just need to not be near it

Which ex-wife are you referring to this time. :woot:

only one ex :)

Hence why I took my grounding from the Zone for a day with a smile.

1/2 isn't close to true...((1/2 (ex) * 1/2 (lawyer))^2 (2 divorces)) = 1/16th + Alcohol budget^3 and Im homeless

LOL. Stay out of trouble big guy.

I honestly think you'll see more of that when they're not facing such a threat of running from the QB. Right or wrong, that's the game plan they came up with to slow Kap, and it hurt a lot in coverage.

Overall to me it looked like there were hints of an awful lot of quit in this team.

It's way too early to get a whiff of that.

If this continues it will be a resounding Good Bye to Red J.
