Browns injuries continue

This Cleveland Browns just can't catch a break on injuries. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Browns outside linebacker Antwan Peek hurt his knee in practice on Wednesday. Peek's status for the Cowboys game is now up in the air.

Cleveland just returned running back Jamal Lewis back to practice on Wednesday. Lewis has been out with a pulled hamstring. On Wednesday, the Browns had 17 players on the injury report, including return specialist Josh Cribbs, who is trying to come back from a high ankle sprain.

Hopefully Cribbs can't play.

Is Tonya Harding still looking for work?

Actually we need Sean Eckhart, and I happen to know his former lawyer. No joke.

Cribbs may be the Browns player I fear the most given our ST coverage play so far.

The Brown's website says he is now done for the year.

Peek has surgery, will miss the season
Zac Jackson, Staff Writer
09.04.2008

Browns linebacker Antwan Peek suffered a torn patella tendon in his knee during Wednesday's practice and is out for the season.

Browns coach Romeo Crennel said the injury occurred on a "freak" play during practice and that Peek was having surgery to repair the tendon Thursday morning.

Peek will be placed on injured-reserve. The Browns plan to re-sign Shantee Orr, who was released last weekend, to replace Peek.

Crennel said the team hopes to have Orr signed in time for him to participate in Thursday's practice. He said both Orr and rookie Alex Hall will play in Sunday's season opener against the Cowboys.

Peek had 4 sacks last year, his first with the Browns.

I hope the Cowboys take advantage of this. I'm tired of the Cowboys letting teams off the hook when they're down. Case in point, the last couple of times we've gone against a lousy secondary, we refused to attack. I hope the Cowboys have learned their lesson. Kill! Kill! Kill! Killer instinct on offense and defense.

If the Brown have injuries, boo hoo hoo. We've got some too, but let's make a statement for four quarters.

Romeo Crennel is from the Belichick line of thinking when it comes to injury reporting; I wouldn't put a lot of stock in the 17 players on the injured list thing. This is a somewhat healthy team.

Well, he's not playing games with the Peek injury report. He's done for 2008.

There were quite a few of those 17 reported injuries that I know were for real. Lewis' hammy, Anderson's head...

I guess we will see soon enough.

LOL, oops!

What guy would use the name 'mamacita' on a football message board? lol.

This injury could really affect them because he was backing up 87 year old Willie McGinest who can't be 100% healthy right now.
