Cowboys get night off

If you thought coach Wade Phillips would be little rough on his team following the sorry performance in Saturday's 31-17 preseason loss to the Chargers, you might want to think again.
He gave the players Sunday night off with no curfew. The players didn't have to report back to camp until meetings at 10 am Monday morning.
A few players used the free evening to attend a party in Hollywood at Les Deux.

Do you get rewards or bonuses for screwing up?

If so, I'm never shopping at Wal-Mart again!

i don't equate to losing a pre-season game as scewing up. 1st teams looked good. yes, we have work to do and 3 more games to evaluate.

i just don't equate winning a pre-season game to us having a great team when it matters. some people just are never happy if they hear the players have a private life or a life outside of football 24x7.

No big deal.

Was he supposed to punish Romo, TO, Ratliff, Barber, Witten, Ware, etc.?

It's the coaches (special teams esp.) that ought to be working overtime after Saturday.

Once that first preseason game is under the belt, the thirst for practice news starts to wane. Screw shorts and helmet news, I want more games.

This is who Wade is we need to accept it and move on. He's not Tom Coughlin, he's not gonna rip players in the media or in front of the team. My concern on Wade is , did he learn from his Romo Vacation blunder? that's my concern.

And I don't think the overall performance was worthy of praise or rewarding them with a night off.

And you're right, (from what I've read, thanks NFL Network!) the 1st stringers 'looked' great, so that's reassuring.

Considering the Cowboys will be heading to Denver to work with the Broncos over the next few days it is not a suprise to see the guys get a night off.

Why? Run the maze, get the cheese mofos! Get lost and starve, you helmet-wearing vermin!! :lmao:

For what's it worth, I think this is all pretty funny stuff. Wake me when the regular season gets here!

BTW, a few years ago, the Patriots got trounced by the Bills in the first game of the regular season, 35-0. They went on to win the Super Bowl. The Giants looked like stir-fried crap at the beginning of last year, with a significant number of fans wanting to cut their starting QB on the spot.

They won the SB and the aforementioned QB was the MVP of the game. Is this breaking news?

Apparently. :LOL

Seriously, I wonder if this is part of the reason so many fans are so upset about this game... Because so many of the out-of-area fans missed the first part when our starters were in?
