Morning practice tidbits
The Cowboys had their morning practice cut short due to the storms that rolled through the area. Here are some of the observations from the first mini-camp practice....
* Cowboys WR Terrell Owens was not at the practice and is not expected to attend the entire minicamp while dealing with a personal matter. The absence is excused. He had his physical on Monday and attended the Tuesday morning meetings but left before practice started at 10:15 a.m.
* WR Terry Glenn and FS Ken Hamlin were absent as expected. Hamlin is not under contract and Glenn has not yet signed an injury waiver to practice. Both also did not take their physicals on Monday.
* The good: WR Sam Hurd put a nice inside move on CB Pacman Jones during one-on-one drills to seperate and beat Pacman to the outside for a catch. ... WR Danny Amendola left CB Quincy Butler behind on one drills showing impressive quickness.
* The bad: Tough morning for some of the young WRs, also known as guys that can't afford many dropped passes. Mike Jefferson dropped a pass and was yelled at by receivers coach Ray Sherman. The drop bug also hit undrafted free agent Daniel Polk. Isaiah Stanback, who has been making good strides, also had a pass go right through his hands.
* Practice resumes at 3 p.m. and will conclude at 4:45 p.m.
* WR Patrick Crayton said he was tired of hearing ''OTAs''..."Let's get rid of that word OTA. Just say the fifth week of mini-camp.'' He said he has also been impressed with Pacman because he has been able to pick things up quickly in short time.

T.O., Hamlin, T.G. missing from practice
Terrell Owens, Ken Hamlin and Terry Glenn missed Tuesday morning's workouts on the first day of a three-day minicamp at Valley Ranch.
Owens is "tending to personal business" according to Cowboys public relations director Rich Dalrymple. Owen's status for the remainder of minicamp is unknown.
Glenn is not expected to attend any minicamp workouts. He didn't take a physical on Monday and remains at an impasse the Cowboys over an injury settlement.
Hamlin, the team's designated franchise player, is still seeking a long-term contract.

Mini-camp starts Tuesday
The action cranks back up at Valley Ranch this week. The Cowboys mandatory three-day mini-camp begins Tuesday at Valley Ranch. The Cowboys will have a morning and afternoon practice on Tuesday and Wednesday and one practice on Thursday. The first workout begins at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Two players that are not expected to be on the practice fields are FS Ken Hamlin (top) and WR Terry Glenn. Both were absent from all of the voluntary OTA practices. Hamlin is still trying to get a long-term deal done. He would not be fined by the club for missing the mini-camp since he is not under contract.
Glenn must sign a $500,000 injury settlement before hitting the practice field. He has been working hard to rehab the knee, which required two surgeries last season, since the playoff loss to the Giants. Glenn has indicated he is ready to return but the Cowboys want him to sign the agreement to protect themselves financially if he reinjures the troublesome knee. Glenn is set to earn a $1.74 million salary this season.
Stay tuned for updates throughout the three days.
