Hurt and coaching

Wade Phillips says he has a superstar coaching staff, but he's getting one Pro Bowl player doing some of the coaching as well. Terence Newman, who is sitting out with a groin strain, was working closely on the sidelines with young corner Alan Ball. After a nice coverage play, Newman yelled at Ball and gave him a thumbs up.
Not sure when Newman can return.

I doubt the Cowboys coaching staff see any reason to rush Newman back onto the field. They'll be very cautious with him so as not to worsen his injury. While he's sitting he can help the other younger CBs & they also benefit by getting more snaps.

Newman has nothing to prove, he'll come along slowly...
