Holley's only on the practice squad, fellas. The only other guy I would've liked to see stay on the PS was DeAngelo Smith and he got signed by the Browns anyway, so it's a wash.

It's not like Holley will see the field this season. Manuel Johnson would make the team before he did.

Holley never sees the field as a Dallas Cowboy when games mean something.I agree it was a favor to keep him on the PS.

Olgetree on the other hand , I say he has more catches than both Hurd and Austin this year!

Well, first of all Mr. Butt Hurt About Something, that was my opinion. Nothing from any inside source. Nor did I say it was information told to me anywhere. Not once did I claim that was inside information.

Irvin's show got good ratings, and does not need some bizarre roster tinfoil hat conspiracy for another season.

Every TV show needs ratings. There's no conspiracy behind that. It's common sense.

There is no way in hell that Jerry jones is going to toss out a roster spot to a nobody.

Huh? You lost me. Why would it piss me off that a guy made a play? I never, and I mean never, liked the idea of a reality show winner being in Camp. It has nothing to do with Jessie Holley. I wouldn't have liked it if it were my cousin. I did not like the concept. Never did. Never puleld any punches about that fact.

I'm not going to bother asking this question of forum members agreeing with you, because YOU are one of the people that calls the shots here, and you are also one of the people who gangs up on others when they get frustrated with the Cowboys and post something negative about the team and/or players.

Did you ever bother to notice that I often respect those who disagree with me? Probably not.

The shoe is on the other foot now as you are in the opposite position. You are the one frustrated and making negative comments, so back them up with anything solid. I don't want opinion, I want facts that you can source and back up. You make some pretty outlandish claims so its time to verify them with facts.

If you don't want my opinions don't ask me for them. I'm not shy about my opinions even when others don't like them. The difference sometimes is I can back mine up with something other than sensationalism and hyperbole. The nerve of me again.

They are definitely a football family and more importantly a Cowboys football family.

guarantee you the pats just wanted a wildcat qb to practice against.
they are in the division with the dolphins after all and lost to them last year.

but the pats are smart enough to use their practice squad to help win games...
and this gives them a scout team qb who can emulate a lot of tricky stuff.

i posted in another thread that i wanted him on the PS because we have vick in our division now and he would A) be the best guy to simulate him and B) he would be a QB again.

and lets face it, by the second eagles game he could very well be the starter and we need to prepare for that.

Thanks go to tight end coach John Garrett, who used his recent history as UVA's receivers coach to persuade Kevin Ogletree to sign with the Dallas Cowboys following the draft.

And it was , on the advice of John Garrett, to draft John Phillips, who is a very solid #3 TE.

Good call on that one too. I was lost when we drafted yet another TE for about 20 seconds until I thought "martellus bennett" and assumed someone in the team's coaching staff really knows something about TE's.

You have to look at Bennett's body of work coming out of eATMe. He was a blocking specialist with limited pass catching ability on tape. Yet we burn a high pick on him and just like picking an apple off the tree we find a TE with more athleticism than Witten???? Are you freaking kidding me?

I would have taken a shot to the jewels with a steel toed boot to find someone half as good as Witten and then we pick up ANOTHER guy this draft who looks like another decent pass-catching TE who does need a bit of polishing around the edges.

Amazing considering how long and hard we looked for Novacek's replacement. Now we've got two, and a third worthy of development.

I guess the notion that Stanback was Jerry guy and Jerry would protect him went down the toilet. I feel for Stanback but totally back the team in releasing him and going with Ogletree for the simple fact he has shown more ability as a WR than Stanback

As injury prone as Hurd is I would be shocked if Ogletree doesn't get some "serious" playing time this year.

Echo it x2, x3, and x100 for me. Jerry just couldn't resist one little sideshow, could he?

And other than that punt return, Holley was terrible. He consistently whiffed on tackles and got knocked on his can on special teams.

You'd think all those Bull Rings would've prepared him better.

I don't think it is a side show per se. It is getting a possible contributor for little investment if it works out. It is obvious Jerry respects Michael Irvin a great deal and gave him a shot to do this through his show. The worst case scenario is that Holley goes into obscurity from the practice squad.

But if he can return and even contribute as a receiver who knows. I really believe Jerry will rely on the OC, wide receiver and special teams coaches input. Too much is at stake this season.
