Terrell Owens, Tony Romo and now receiver Roy Williams. He has jumped on the Jason Garrett bashing bandwagon. In a radio interview Thursday with a Washington D.C. station (ESPN 980), Williams took offense to Garrett's offense and how he was used.

"I thought with me and T.O. out there, I thought that was just like Fitz (Larry Fitzgerald) and (Anquan) Boldin out there, but I don't think they used us correctly this past season. But hopefully this season with training camp under our belt we can all get on the same page and win some ball games."
Are you OK with Garrett?

"I am cool with Garrett, I just hope that he uses me a little more. I know what I can do in this league. I have a proven track record. I think have some pretty good hands to catch the ball. So I think he can use me a little bit more."

Williams had just 19 catches for 198 yards and one TD this season in 10 games after the trade.

"The ball just never came my way. I was never the featured guy for the ball to come my way," he said.

Williams added that his plantar fasciitis was not that big of a problem for him and he was able to consistently get open. You believe that?

"The foot didn't ever slow me down," Williams said. "I think that was more of an excuse for others to use. But going into this season there won't be any excuses."

Interesting comment here considering Wade Phillips said he was slowed by the injury and it was part of the reason for his low production. Not according to Roy. Sounds like Roy is saying that's an excuse the team was using for his minimal impact.

This year Williams said he is going to voice himself more after staying quiet for the most part when he arrived this season.

The ball just never came my way.

Going into this year there won't be any excuses.

The ball just never came my way. Who's to blame for that? Garrett? Does Garrett throw the ball? Garrett can call plays where Williams is a lower option, admittedly....

Perhaps Garrett did that repeatedly.

Made sure Williams was the 4th option or so on every pass play, to ensure he never got the ball.

Why can't players shut the hell up???

Oh well. These were comments provided to the media. Ergo, they will directly prove beneficial for getting this team back on track.

We've already been at a work stoppage since Nov.

None of the wide receivers got the ball but why dind't they ask him about his route running while they were at it, or were they too busy trying to get Cowboys dirt.

Keep in mind too Romo spent most of the season running for his life, so didn't have time to get to 2nd and 3rd reads in his progression very often.

Personally I think Garrett had an offense built around TO, Crayton, Witten and just couldn't effectively adjust it to incorporate Williams.

Which is a bit scary.

Hopefully, as he says, there will be no excuses this year and he'll be able to provide for this team what i've felt all along he'd be able to provide in his second and third and fourth year here. A legit threat that will either take coverage away from TO, or make Roy the legit #1 if they decide to let Owens go.

It is Garrett's fault for running progressions that had his WRs going deep all day. Nobody told him he had to go deep all day, so that Romo had to wait for his WRs to get downfield before trying to throw to them.

Garrett didn't even incorporate Crayton properly, and balls weren't coming his way effectively as well.

Also, I said that Roy Willliams never asserted he had an injury and he complained about his use in the offense. I think the injury thing was another way to cover Garrett's inabilities to use him effectively.

I'm actually rooting for an all Dallas Cowboy cast in a remake of Deliverance (with Greg Ellis playing Ned Beatty's role since he squeals like a Pig so well each offseason), but maybe your idea would help move mine along.

I don't see how he can be complaining when he just got here.

And I don't think he's really ripping Garrett all that much either.

And why is he doing this on the Commanders Radio Network!!!

I am sure all the Skins fans listening loved hearing this come out of his mouth.

Well I give up.

Why he is on the radio talking about this is baffling.

after we get rid of owens it appears we will just have another problem.

at some point before I die I would like to see this team win again, in the playoffs.

i am 32 so there is a chance.

Yeah, that problem's name is Garrett....

Absolutely agree.

The talent is there, there's no doubt about that.

These are Pro Bowl level players with skins on the wall.

Owens and Roy Williams showed what they can do before they ever came to Dallas and Witten is obviously one of the league's best tight ends.

In my opinion, if it doesn't work, it's Garrett's fault.

Too many straight lines in the playbook Jason and not enough angles!

Maybe if he's the #1 receiver he will get blenty of balls coming his way ;)

I wish every one of them would just shut up, but I don't think that's happening.

I'm sorry, but that is an indictment on Garrett's play calling - no other way around it. Those FACTS don't lie. All other WRs had below-expectations perfoormances also, and all of them were relativrely healty all year.

On one hand, I don't like how all these WRs (and the QB) are speaking out against the offensive coaching, but on the other hand the fact that they ALL are, makes me happy they are, because it blows up the obvious cover up that Jerry Jones and Wade Phillips are trying to sell everyone, and that is to protect Gatrrett at all costs.

Maybe Jones and Phillips feel this sense of duty to Garrett, but other teams don't, and THAT is why he is rightfully being passed up for head coaching jobs; because once he's a head coach, who protects him then?

Maybe Dan Reeves? :lmao2:

It isn't necessarily about balls coming your way. There was statistic awhile back, regarding TO and being thrown to, and the trend reflects balls thrown his way that were more likely than not, uncatcheable. His net drops actually went down this year.

As Roy Williams clearly said, it is about how both he and TO were used. In ARizona, especially against the Eagles game, their were plenty of basic screens and plays that took advanatge of the aggressiveness of the Eagles defense to get the ball to Fitzgerald and even Boldin in one series. Boldin had a wide-open TD if Warner hit him properly.

You didn't see that at all with Garrett against the Eagles...

Jerry's hope lied in Garrett getting a HC job to save face. Now he is stuck with him.
