BS... When you balance your offense, you make it unpredictable. You run play-action, because you make the offense second guess whether your going to pass or run. We were the best play-action team in the business in the nineties. As far as running, your right and I even admitted that, but that was because we used out running game consistently and never went away from it. We also took advanatge of the size of our OL, moving them forward. Garrett doesn't do that. And the reason he doesn't do that is because he is one-dimensional, trying to go downfield all the time.

If you look at game logs, we are normally in 3rd and long situations, because Garrett goes vertical instead of trying to manage the field. He is one of the worst in the business at it, because he tries to take big chunks of the field all the time.

Look at the game logs? I watch the games every single one and no Garrett is not constantly looking down field hell Barber had 52 catches on the season he was not running deep routs, Witten had 81 catches he was not running deep routs the majority of the time. Yes on many pass plays Romo looked deep and should be checking down based on coverage.

Check out WWW.ESPN1033.COM Roy Williams was on the Galloway Show today.

Who cares what comes from Washington?

A WR is actually talking to Galloway (and we know how Grandpa Urine is) sounds more interesting.

I thought it was a good interview and RW was blunt and honest.

This thread is a reflection of today's society.

Got dirty laundry?

Forget about that fancy dandy washing machine or making that trip to the dry cleaners!

Instead, get yourself a tub, fill it up with water, go out on the street, find yourself a BIG ole rock and beat the crap outta dem dirty clothes! They'll come out clean and lemony fresh too! That's the ticket!

SO! When do they start telling the media how many times Gurode farted on Romo's hands every down? I can hardly wait.

/sarcasm

Whoa! You got me thinking...

I would bet that those high shotgun snaps that Gurode does from time to time that he farts at the same time as he releases the ball causing the wind from his farts to power the ball over Romo's head?

Hmmm...

Man, I'm getting tired of saying this. Some of you guys or girls are going to have to start carrying the banner. Rafael Vela has given the blue-print and the meat and bones to build a powerful argument against Terrell Owens' play on the field over the past 4 years.

Terrell Owens is a declining player. Except, he had one of his very best seasons in Jason Garrett's passing offense in 2007. That season, in Garrett's passing game, cuts Owens and his minions off at the knees. Owens and some of his fans blame Garrett but igore the 2007 season when Owens excelled in Jason Garrett's passing game. What? It's typical Owens. "I confess. He did it".

When Owens' YPA against Joyner's "red" corners drops from 9.3 YPA to 2.0 YPA* (*for 8 games; half returns not in), you can't pin that enormous drop off in production all on Jason Garrett. You can't. Owens, with 8 games left to be counted, is behind Patrick Crayton's 2.8 YPA. That has to alarm the Cowboys. That is one big reason why Roy Williams was brought to Dallas. Crayton couldn't get away from some of the better corners. Now, Owens has demonstrated on the field that he couldn't get away from them, either. Owens was able to beat bracket coverage in 2007. He couldn't beat it in 2008, and one reason he couldn't was some of the better corners shut him down.

When you add his declining play on the field with his "drama", the choice of cutting him loose is not hard. The franchise is worth about $1.5 billion dollars, and Owens salary is nothing when you consider the health of your overall investment. What about the investment in Tony Romo, Jason Witten, Roy Williams, ect... What about the perception of your team? The Cowboys have won 10.1 games per year with Owens on the team. His replacement, big mouth and all, is here.

Owens' play dropped off the table in 2008, and his YPA dropped off the table when you compare it to his 2007 season, especially against some of the better cornerbacks. Owens couldn't beat bracket coverage after the Packers and Commanders exposed him. He's pushing 36, and he can't get off the jam on a consistent basis, either. His 65.8 YPA is reflective of his declining YPA and play. His YPA has declined three out of the past four years.

Terell Owens is no longer a player that the offense should center around. Do you think he will accept that philosophy? If you give him 140-150 targets, you will miss the playoffs again. Owens will not be happy with 3-5 targets per game. Roy Williams is 27, and he put up # 1 WR numbers in 2006 and made the Pro Bowl.

I've been very critical of Jason Garrett in regards to game management, so I don't have a problem defending him in regards to iOwens, especially when the numbers are crystal clear.

These are the other things Roy talked about on GAC

-Roy explained T.O.'s comments about why Roy needs to be in the Offense more.

-Roy talked about the meeting he had with Garrett.

-Roy talked about the practices. (more interesting)

Yeah. We get it 41gy.

2 years ago, Roy Williams had one season where he put up #1 WR numbers.

The only people who are trashing Garrett - that I've heard - are 2 goofball WRs and a few people in the media.

Who has squealed, placed blame, made excuses or complained in public this season and offseason? Let's count this up.

Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett, Tony Romo, TO, RW11, Patrick Crayton, Martellus Bennett, Tank Johnson, Greg Ellis, Bobby Carpenter, Bradie James (?), Terence Newman.

That's 12. Who am I missing? I was okay with what Witten has said and MBIII was supposedly irked but I haven't heard any public statements.

Williams added that his plantar fasciitis was not that big of a problem for him and he was able to consistently get open. You believe that?

"The foot didn't ever slow me down," Williams said. "I think that was more of an excuse for others to use. But going into this season there won't be any excuses."

Cornerbacks to WR Roy Williams: 'Why do they got you running this same thing over and over again?'

4:45 PM Fri, Jan 30, 2009 | Permalink | Yahoo! Buzz
Tim MacMahon E-mail News tips

I'm starting to get the feeling that coachable WR Roy Williams isn't a big fan of Jason Garrett's system.

"As Ray Lewis said after he got done playing us, we had the easiest offense to figure out," Williams said on ESPN 103.3's Galloway and Co., which was at least his third radio interview of the day. "But if we can move people around and use people that they don't think is gonna get the ball -- because they watched film for the last three or four weeks and can see that some people aren't getting the ball -- that can throw them for a loop.

"But, like I said, I'm a coachable wide receiver. I'll run what I'm supposed to run. And I'll continue to have the cornerbacks ask me, 'Why do they got you running this same thing over and over again?'"

Does Williams have any suggested changes?

"We can start with like a slant or something," Williams said. "I feel like I'm a pretty good receiver. I can catch a slant and turn it into a 20-yard gain or something, but I didn't run a slant this past season until the Philly game."

During the interview, Williams said that the Cowboys needed to shut up and play at some point.

He's right about that, but since the Cowboys aren't playing in the Super Bowl, they might as well spend the week yapping. Right?

Garrett is going to make a great head coach

Terrell Owens, Tony Romo and now receiver Roy Williams. He has jumped on the Jason Garrett bashing bandwagon. In a radio interview Thursday with a Washington D.C. station (ESPN 980), Williams took offense to Garrett's offense and how he was used.

"I thought with me and T.O. out there, I thought that was just like Fitz (Larry Fitzgerald) and (Anquan) Boldin out there, but I don't think they used us correctly this past season. But hopefully this season with training camp under our belt we can all get on the same page and win some ball games."
Are you OK with Garrett?

"I am cool with Garrett, I just hope that he uses me a little more. I know what I can do in this league. I have a proven track record. I think have some pretty good hands to catch the ball. So I think he can use me a little bit more."

Williams had just 19 catches for 198 yards and one TD this season in 10 games after the trade.

"The ball just never came my way. I was never the featured guy for the ball to come my way," he said.

Williams added that his plantar fasciitis was not that big of a problem for him and he was able to consistently get open. You believe that?

"The foot didn't ever slow me down," Williams said. "I think that was more of an excuse for others to use. But going into this season there won't be any excuses."

Interesting comment here considering Wade Phillips said he was slowed by the injury and it was part of the reason for his low production. Not according to Roy. Sounds like Roy is saying that's an excuse the team was using for his minimal impact.

This year Williams said he is going to voice himself more after staying quiet for the most part when he arrived this season.

The ball just never came my way.

Going into this year there won't be any excuses.

I agree he should have been "used" more, but Roy needs to worry about the things he can control.

Like improving his route running.

Well I give up.

Why he is on the radio talking about this is baffling.

after we get rid of owens it appears we will just have another problem.

at some point before I die I would like to see this team win again, in the playoffs.

i am 32 so there is a chance.

He's just another primadonna WR. There's really nothing to see here. I'm so glad this came out so all you TO haters can have a little perspective on things. At least TO attempts to be PC when speaking to the press. You will find that people like Romo will take this with a grain of salt because in his mind it's just another primadonna WR that wants the ball. Move along now.

The real problem? Red
