That was my first thought also. Now is he a mental case (Underwood and Alonzo Spellman sp?) or is he an ego guy that recieved millions at an age he couldn't handle it?

I would take him with certain provisions. Juke and CB40 must be his personal caretakers. Keep him from doing stupid stuff.

Anyone remember the tale of the scorpion that wanted to cross the river?
He went up to a turtle that was about to go across and asked for a ride.
The turtle said" NO way. You will sting me!"
The Scorpion said" If I do that I will die as well!
The turtle thought it over and reluctantly agreed.
Halfway across the river the scorpion stung the turtle.
The turtle gasped"Now you will die as well- WHY?"
The scorpion said" Its my nature"

Pacman and trouble.
The Scorpion and the Turtle.
Good analogy.

Dude, although that's a nice tale and all, it's been disproved by our recent acquisition of T.O., Tank, and Hamlin. All those guys were "It's in my nature" types before they became Cowboys; how do we feel about them now?
Tank Johnson and Adam Jones are almost twin copies of being off-the-field troublemakers. Their past mutual run-ins with the law can't be discounted or minimized as legitimate concerns.

Terrell Owens is a knucklehead, who during his hall of fame career, has exhibited knucklehead behavior time-and-again and once disrespected the very same franchise he now plays for. Still, there aren't any justifiable comparisons between a natural idiot and guys like Johnson and Jones.

Ken Hamlin may still be a hothead, but after being beaten a half-an-inch of his life during a nightclub fight nearly three years ago, he's stayed out of trouble. It's a hard lesson which probably sunk in permanently for him. Admittedly, I don't know much more about Hamlin or any other troubles he may have been involved in. If that's pretty much the sum total of what he's guilty of, I wouldn't compare him with Johnson or Jones either.

Jones is an amazing talent, but I'm very weary of him. Putting him in a Cowboys uniform will not change my viewpoint--just as it doesn't change my point-of-view about any player. However, I am interested in seeing if Goodell's punishment has finally sunk in for him. It really was the best thing that could have happened to him. He's young and could rebound into having a very successful, profitable, long-term career--whether it's in Dallas or not.

Aside from Spellman and Underwood, we seem to do a good job of laundering guys' careers. If a 7th-rounder to TEN and a highly-incentivized one-year contract offering the base minimum salary is all it takes to get Pacman, why not? 7th-rounders are basically throwaway picks anyways so even it all goes wrong, it's not like we'll have made a mistake we can't recover from, you know, like the Mavs and the Kidd trade...(ducks)....

Based purely on his play, where would you guys rank Pac? He has to be one of the top 5-10 CBs in the NFL.

he is top 5,actually i think hes better than Bailey and newman.

I think it's most assuredly a risk no matter what pick the team gives up.
It could be a 2009 conditional draft pick based on his production this season.

7th round pick. That's it. Anything more than that is a risk due to his need to be reinstated to even play. That isn't a given.

I'd still rather wait for the Eagles to release Lito Sheppard.

Why would the Eagles release him? They could trade him and get compensation.

Furthermore, if he is released, seeing as how CBs are getting paid, its probably safe to assume Lito will command quite a salary himself.

Exactly, the eagles are not gonna release Lito. i been hearing that they are gonna give the Cards, Lito along with Reggie brown and maybe a pick for Fitz. I believe that deal will get done.

I'm in total agreement with you on this. This same type of thread was going on two yrs ago. Now T.O. is the b est thing to happen in Dallas. And for the record, I'm all for bringing in an explosive talent like him. Just make sure you fill his contract with behavorial clauses.

Have you seen him play enough corner to say that? I know he is a good return guy, but how many games did the guy play in the league? I ask because I don't know? Was it 2 years?

For the record...Arguing with your QB's isn't a felony so I don't believe that the 2 are comparable. Yes, players deserve 2nd chances. Has anyone heard an interview with the guy? Even after all the trouble he has been in he STILL doesn't think he did anything wrong or that he has any problem. It's one thing to make a mistake because you are young and have been given a lot of cash, but at some point "wake up" and say that "yes I need to change my ways." He hasn't done that IMO.
