Still troubled Quincy Carter opens up, says Jerry Jones made billionaire power play

Former Cowboys quarterback Quincy Carter says the Cowboys lied about why they released him, admitting he failed a drug test and said it wasnt because of poor performance. He also said if he didn't have a problem with drugs no one would have ever heard of Tony Romo. :lmao:

Carter, who was recently arrested in Abilene, plays for the Abilene Rough Riders of the Indoor Football League.

Carter opened up to dfwreporting.com senior reporter Kimberly Torres in the following video.

Former Dallas Cowboys Quarterback Unleashes Everything For First Time Ever – Video 1 of 2

Posted on: May 11, 2009

Reported by: Kimberly Torres

Athletes around the world know that great players make great plays. For former Dallas Cowboy quarterback Quincy Carter it is one fumble after another. Carter now plays for an indoor football team in Abilene, Texas.

For the first time ever Carter spoke openly about drug usage, Jerry Jones, Tony Romo and his release from the Dallas Cowboys in an exclusive interview with DFWReporting.com senior reporter Kimberly Torres.

“It was a billionaire power play”, says Carter. “That’s what he [Jerry Jones] did. It was a billionaire power play. He [Jerry Jones] had the NFL lose those tapes. That’s how powerful Jerry Jones is.”

The NFL drug policy then and now prohibits teams from releasing a player because of a positive drug test. The Cowboys released Carter four days into training camp in 2004 under questionable circumstances.

The Cowboys lied or they gave another reason why they dumped the druggie?

Some people want their 15 minutes of fame. Others want 15 years of it. I think Quincy Carter is shooting for hopelessly attracting 30 years worth of totally unnecessary attention at himself. If it wasn't so profoundly illogical, it would be sad.

*Shrugs* He really has no one to blame but himself and at least he appears in the videos to own up to his part of his problems. I think he's also grasping the reality, as many don't seem to, that his issues have closed the door on his NFL chances. He's left it open with a 1% chance, which is that never say never attitude people often display, but you can tell the guy knows he's blown it.

I'll give him credit for at least knowing that because a lot of people never seem to grasp that concept when they screw their lives up.

Why the media continues to indulge this pathetic imbecile is what I would like to know. Just allow him to face into obscurity where he apparently wants to go since he simply cannot stay out of trouble. The last thing this delusional fool needs is anyone indulging his fantasies.

But I guess this is a "story" so whatever.

Neither would I love Me some Me. Since he thinks Romo sucks he probably hates Carter for getting into trouble and leaving the Cowboys with Romo.

To to jail, go directly to jail. Do not pass go, do not toke on the bong, and do not ever collect another football based paycheck.

Loser.

What could the league do? Make them un-release him and take him back? So after one more practice, the team could have come out and said he stinks and we are now cutting him for performance reasons. The league cannot make you keep a player you no longer want. All they had to do was say they like Romo better as a player and no longer want Carter on the teram. Case closed!
