I hated the draft pick at the time, especially how Jerry went out of his way to get this guy.

Since it blew up in his face, I commend Jerry for how quickly and efficiently he got rid of Carter.

I don't care how Jerry did it or what reason he gave. Quincy Carter is an imbecile ... someone who can't be counted on and someone who had to go.

Jerry invested a high pick and lots of money into this guy and put his reputation as a GM on the line for him, defending him over and over again. When Carter betrayed that trust, I think Jerry should have been able to cut ties without even giving a reason.

Performance?

He can't "perform" when he's suspended.

Works for me.

bitter much Lavonia?

I guess the Cowboys had something to do with you sucking with the NY Jets, whatever AFL 2 team you played for, and in life?

Stupid draft selection at the time. The kid was never a NFL caliber QB. He's not a leader. He's athletic and made some plays but he was a knucklehead. You guys think Romo is careless go back and watch the games.

I hated the pick because IIRC Carter came out because he wasn't even going to start for his college team the next year. That's why I hated it cause we gave up such a high pick for a guy who wasn't even the best QB on his college team.

Plus I always felt like Jerry was reaching, badly, on Quincy in his pursuit of finding his own McNabb. I don't know if that was really the case or not but that's always what it seemed like to me.

Most recent playoff stats:

QB1 - 18 of 36, 50% completion rate, 1TD, 1INT, 2 sacks. 3 carries for 17 yards

QB2 - 21 of 36, 58.3% completion rate, 0TD, 1INT, 3 sacks. 4 carries for 25 yards and 1 TD

From looking at the game lines, you can't even tell them apart.

:)

Biggest. Idiot. In history!

:lmao:

But the best part of that vid was seeing the snippets of the grievance with the Parcells interview. He admits he thought that Quincy was "in the tank" and didn't respond well to competition even in 2003. He even admits he almost cut The Q before training camp started the next year. This totally validates what Hos said about how Bill intended for Vinny to start the whole time.

Of course, Quinthy didn't even bother to read the transcript of his own case. :lmao:

What a disaster area he was. And some of you wonder why some of us are optimistic about this team. Those years were what it's like to be really hopeless.

BINGO! Spot on. Testeverde most certainly was brought in to start. A fool could see that. A team carries 3 QB's. Testy wasnt getting cut, he was just signed, and a BP guy. Henson wasnt getting cut, they just traded a 3rd for his rights. Romo looked pretty safe too, even as a rookie. Think back to the articles that were written back then. The staff loved Romo's attitude and upside. So, there are your 3 QB's. That left only one to cut......QuINTcy. Glad those days are gone forever.

Yeah. And the same guy that traded up to draft Quincy is still in charge now.

I see the difference, problem is, and I'll use the same logic most fans use with TO. TO hasn't won a Super Bowl right? Well, even though Romo is worlds better, we're no better off based on winning play off games and going to the Super Bowl.

The object of getting better is to actually go further. Unfortunately, we've not done much more in the winning playoff situation.

Problem is that's everyone's objective not just the Cowboys, the NFC and specially the NFC east is a hell of a lot better now then it was in 03. The 03 team would be lucky to win 4 games if they played our 08 schedule

I have a teenage son going to High School who was a little infant the last time the Cowboys won the Super Bowl.

Back then, we didn't put up with losing. We were extremely hard on the Cowboys, we didn't have this glossy look in our eyes just because a guy put up numbers.

I'm afraid that it's been so long since we've even had a DECENT quarterback, that even a guy with a pulse makes us happy. Jerry Jones hasn't drafted a QB in the 1st round since Aikman, that makes 20 years.

How do you expect to win a Super Bowl when you won't even take the time to draft a stinking QB in the 1st round?

I know other people will say that Brady was not a first round pick, and Warner was not either. But Brady came in with receivers I would not consider great, did not turn the ball over too much, and simply won. Forget stats, he just won. Same with Warner, he just won.

It's like being trapped in a room with 6 ugly as dirt women for 10 years, then all of a sudden an average girl walks in the room and we think she's a goddess, only because she's better than what we've had.

All I ask, just win.
