This is insane. Clubs miss on draft picks all the time, and when they do (even badly), it's rarely described as a "black" or "notorious" moment in time. There's a world of difference between "missed opportunity" (Moss) and "dysfunctional" (Valley Ranch).

Dallas didn't miss on Moss. Randy Moss was nowhere near a miss. Dallas chose not to pick Moss because of the image the Dallas Cowboys had from the Michael Irvin fiasco. They chose Greg Ellis, an 'outstanding' character guy.

The fact that Moss came back an abused this team, despite wanting to be picked by the Cowboys, Stephen Jackson came over and abused this team, saying he wanted to be picked by the Cowboys, the fact that Ray Lewis called out Garrett along with Ed Reed, the Steelers pointing out hwo they knew the play call which led to the INT of Romo, when he tried to pass it to Witten, is way more embarassing than this incident...

Or maybe because we had only one starting DE at the time so drafting a starting DE was necessary.

Not really dark or embarassing just poor GM work going into a draft and being forced into drafting a starter instead of an impact player.

Oh really... Who was our WR? Our lack of WR when Michael Irvin left was a glaring need and was more felt than a DE... That is why we then had to go out and get Joey Galloway, throwing away our number one draft picks a couple years later? Because they passed on Randy Moss, because Jerry cared about 'image'...

The funny thing is the anti-Jerry crowd point this trade out as his clowning glory of stupidity, but it was because of their demands that he 'clean up' the Cowboys and their drama that he went out and drafted Greg Ellis, instead of Randy MOss...

And Randy Moss even made it clear prior to the draft, he always wanted toplay for the Cowboys... It essentially led to us losing two first round draft picks...

Greg Ellis was one of the biggest busts in NFL history, in comparison to how it affected the Cowboys...

I'd call you hysterical, but as the old joke goes, that would be an insult to hysterical people. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm reading something that's really on my computer screen.

It is the same scenario with Dan Reeves, in that most people thought he was going to be the consultant.

except for Reeves wasn't competing with anyone to be the consultant here

Garrett was competing with Spagnuolo, there was a chance he wouldn't be HC

The departure of Dan Reeves, signals that Jason Garrett is here to stay and the way Jerry deals with that bum is the best indicator to see if he changed hsi ways of being attached to the nostalgia of the 90s.

People talk about him living in the past, and the ironic thing is, Garrett is here because of Jerry living in the past...

Your game is so transparent, it's lame...

His 'consulting' job was obviously competing with somebody else... Do you think he wasn't going to step on some toes? The only logical thing is those toes that were going to get stepped on were Garrett's... Wade's ties to Reeves are from multiple bonds... Jerry has no ties to Reeves... Jerry does have ties to Garrett...

This is such a screwed up situation. I don't even really care what turns out to be the reason, or reasons, that this thing fell through cause it will just be completely stupid.

Which wouldn't have happened if he drafted Randy Moss, instead of Greg Ellis... Jerry even made it clear he didn't draft Moss because of character issues... Ironic thing is, Greg Ellis is the biggest whiner in history of the Cowboys... Because of it, he had to waste two first round draft picks on Galloway to complement Troy Aikman... and Galloway isn't anywhere near Moss...

Jerry doesn't need a reason to make an impulse buy

Why did we ever think Jerry and Reeves could work together?

Reeves isn't a yes man like Wade.

And we all know Jerry loves his yes men these days.

Hard being a fan of this team these days.

Not for me. I refuse to buy into the doom and gloom. I see where its coming from, but I'm not buying in to it at all.

I think we will be just fine next year. Am I saying Super Bowl champs? Not quite. But we will have a good shot.

Oh, so 81 receptions and 1355 yards and 15 TDs weren't reason to extend him, even though he didn't play in one game and played a couple games with ahihg-ankle sprain...

So extending him wasn't wise, when it was evident Garrett couldn't do crap without him when he got injured... How about this year, when teams essentially mimicked what happened last year when TO got the high-ankle sprain by making all out effort to stop TO, Garrett couldn't do crap as well, even when he got Roy WIlliams...

Like I said, Garrett is the biggest problem on this team... Keeping him is nostalgia and keeping a sunk cost...

Do you think the fundamentals of the economy are strong also? I swear if one more person utters the phrase "we will be fine" I am going to lose it. :(

Amazing, isn't it... Garrett hasn't done jack and he's untouchable... He coached Joey freakin Harrington at Miami... That is his coaching resume before becoming an OC with the Cowboys... How loud do TO, Tony Romo and Roy Williams have to yell before the world starts looking at Garrett as public enemy number one?

Ah, condescension and snark. Where would you be without it? They are to you what food and water are to the rest of us: sustenance. Even by Jerry's standards, what transpired today was very unusual and very bizarre. More to the point, had Jerry exercised a little patience, it wouldn't have happened at all. Regardless of who is exactly to blame, this is one of the darkest, most embarrassing days in the club's history, and no amount of spin will prove otherwise.
:laugh2:

It sucks cause I wanted him here, but dear lord, let's lay off the drama, please.
