I love BP!
I love BP!

So if Jason Williams and Robert Brewster completely bomb, will you be just as angry at Phillips over the players you believe that he was responsible for drafting? I'll see you in 2013 and we can revisit.
FightingIrishman;3258841 said:The people defending Tubby Mcbutterpants are simply out-of-touch. Wade Phillips should not be in the same conversation as Parcells.
Wade loves to shoot his mouth off with wild spin to make himself look like a football coach. The best thing that has happened to the Commanders (besides Allen and Shanahan), Giants, and Eagles this year so far is that Wade was signed for 2 more years.
He will never contend for a title.

Bach;3258849 said:I've always said he was a good defensive coordinator. Still think so too.
Doomsday101;3258854 said:Well he is showing himself to be a pretty good HC as well.

zrinkill;3258857 said:I think he has shown himself to be as good of a head coach as Bill was when Bill was here.
I still think he is more of a great DC and talent evaluator than Head coach.
Doomsday101;3258867 said:I think the players respect him and play hard for him and that is what I expect out of the HC. I don't care if Wade inspires fans or not, fans do not play the game the players do and they like playing for Wade and play hard for him. I believe more today than ever that Wade will get this team over that final hurdle
Bach;3258863 said:He's showing that he's doing what he has been known for, with the exception of finally getting one wildcard playoff win now. I will agree though that 1-5 in the postseason is better than 0-4.
As for the comparison with BP, now that's laughable though. He inherited a team that had the pieces put in place for him. And as a HC, he really doesn't have much say on the offensive side of the ball, basically just a glorified defensive coordinator.

There's one very important game he needs to win!
Dave_in-NC;3258644 said:And he had to totaly rebuild a team. He had to develop the QB Phillips is riding.
Phillips walked in to ten times the better situation than Parcells did.
Unless fans are satisfied with two blow outs in Phillips two most important games as Cowboys HC, he hasn't done a thing in Dallas either.
miamicowboy21;3258676 said:And parcells hasn't won anything since 1990. The guys tenure here was a failure. Sure he helped upgrade the talent, but he was brought in here to win big. He failed. Parcells continues to live off of his reputation, not current accomplishments. Enough about parcells.
Maikeru-sama;3258737 said:No Bill Parcells was able to draft well because he surrounded himself with smart people and he knows talent.
Many clubs like the Browns and Raiders get high draft picks annually and completely suck year after year.
Bach;3258740 said:EXACTLY
But it all comes down to some feel the need to defend the ones who are here now while trying to tear down the ones who aren't. Same thing with the silly Jerry / Jimmy debates. There's really no debate, but since Jerry is still here and Jimmy's not, then to some they have to try and defend all things Jerry while at the same time try and discredit Jimmy. Really is a strange mentality, imo.
FightingIrishman;3258888 said:How do you know this? He certainly does not inspire any fans around the league.
1-5 in playoffs.... and has destroyed teams as a HC in the past.
The talent he stepped into was given to him by BP (the only years Jerry went "hands-off" at all this decade).
Make no mistake the President, GM, and HC job is Jerry's.... not Wade's.
Everyone else are merely assistants.
Watch the sidelines. Wade looks lost and indecisive. The pic of the 3-34 beatdown says it all. Wade looks like he is about to cry, Garret has his head down, and Jerry is right behind them both trying to make Wade's head explode through telekinesis.
Doomsday101;3258895 said:How did BP look when the NO kicked our butts or he could not figure out that the Seahawks secondary was depleted and forced to pickup guys at the last min yet choose to run the ball yeah that was real fricken bright.
FightingIrishman;3258893 said:JJ and BP are 10X the coach Wade Phillips will ever be. I see Wade as a stop gap and puppet.
It has to say something when the cowboys coaching staff is now at the bottom of the barrel when looking at the NFCE (using success as a guage).
LandryFan;3258901 said:Can't believe I'm responding to a troll, but even you should know that the foreskins are way at the bottom of the coaching heap. The rest are debatable.
