Pointing out that Phillips has been at least as good as Bill does not mean he is my ideal head coach. Far from it.

I want a motivator that puts the team on his back and hits the media head on.

I want another Jimmy Johnson.

The game had passed Bill on as far as coaching by the time he got here.

And Wade has never had the personality to motivate.

He's showing that he's doing what he has been known for, with the exception of finally getting one wildcard playoff win now. I will agree though that 1-5 in the postseason is better than 0-4.

As for the comparison with BP, now that's laughable though. He inherited a team that had the pieces put in place for him. And as a HC, he really doesn't have much say on the offensive side of the ball, basically just a glorified defensive coordinator.

Not gonna argue with that ..... and I hope he does.

You are right in that we do not know what he is like behind closed doors.

But I have a feeling that even if he wins a Superbowl ..... a few guys in this thread will never give him any credit.

He inherited a 9-7 team who played like crap going down the strech in 06 the best season BP had was 10-6 his 1st season in Dallas he then lead them to a 6-10 followed up by 2 9-7 teams. BP did a lot of good things I have said that many times but BP did not leave Wade some championship team he left him a 9-7 team in BP own words it is what it is and that is the pure and simple fact. What is laughable is this notion that BP came and single handely lead the Cowboys allot of people including Jerry played a big role. BP has not won anything is a long time.

As for having no say on offese? BS he does not call the plays big deal many coaches do not call the offense or defense however Wade is involved through out the week about putting together the game plan. One thing that gets me is this non sense that is made up from coach cup cake BS to he has no say over the offense.

The talent he stepped into was given to him by BP (the only years Jerry went "hands-off" at all this decade).

Make no mistake the President, GM, and HC job is Jerry's.... not Wade's.

Everyone else are merely assistants.

Watch the sidelines. Wade looks lost and indecisive. The pic of the 3-34 beatdown says it all. Wade looks like he is about to cry, Garret has his head down, and Jerry is right behind them both trying to make Wade's head explode through telekinesis.

He'll get bashed no matter what he says. That's the way fans do things. It's hilarious, actually, as you read this thread, and others, with people deciding if Wade knows what he's doing or not or if he's a good coach or not.

As if anyone on this forum knows a darn thing about what it takes to be a coach in the NFL. If it were so easy, as so many on there seem to think it is, much like so many do with their so called 'talent evalutions', then they wouldn't be sitting here, wasting time, on a sports forum they'd actually be doing those jobs.

It's comical, really. And I've been just as guilty of it myself many times over. So I'm just as big a fool, at times, for thinking I know a dang thing about the job these folks do.

And he had to totaly rebuild a team. He had to develop the QB Phillips is riding.
Phillips walked in to ten times the better situation than Parcells did.

Unless fans are satisfied with two blow outs in Phillips two most important games as Cowboys HC, he hasn't done a thing in Dallas either.

I'm fairly sure that Parcells got blown out a couple of times in games we really needed to win. His teams failed, and sometimes miserably, in key situations in seasons for us.

That's not unique to Wade or any coach of any team, really.

And parcells hasn't won anything since 1990. The guys tenure here was a failure. Sure he helped upgrade the talent, but he was brought in here to win big. He failed. Parcells continues to live off of his reputation, not current accomplishments. Enough about parcells.

Disagree completely. There is no way, at all, that his tenure here can be considered a failure. He added major talent to this team and took them from being a yearly 5-11 team to being a competitve team who would at least challenge for, if not make it to, the playoffs. That's a successful turn around by any definition you try and proclaim.

10-6, 6-10, 9-7,9-7 with 2 playoff appearances is, was, and always will be superior to 5-11, 5-11, 5-11.

No Bill Parcells was able to draft well because he surrounded himself with smart people and he knows talent.

Many clubs like the Browns and Raiders get high draft picks annually and completely suck year after year.

Parcells drafts well for the same reason this team is drafting well now the last couple of years as well. They know how to evaluate talent and they do a great job, in the scouting department, of putting together quality draft boards.

BP knew talent. There is no denying that. Did he miss? Of course he did. So did Jimmy Johnson and any other coach you want to pull out.

But it all comes down to some feel the need to defend the ones who are here now while trying to tear down the ones who aren't. Same thing with the silly Jerry / Jimmy debates. There's really no debate, but since Jerry is still here and Jimmy's not, then to some they have to try and defend all things Jerry while at the same time try and discredit Jimmy. Really is a strange mentality, imo.

Blah, blah, blah. Please direct me to where anyone has EVER tried to tear down what Jimmy Johnson did here. Please. Show me one place where anyone has ever tried to say Jimmy wasn't a huge part, probably even the biggest part, of what went on while he was here. I'm just dying to see this evidence that anyone here ever claimed Jimmy didn't do great things in Dallas and have tried to minimize what he did in Dallas.

Jerry never went hands off, it has been stated by those at Valley Ranch that when it came to play personnel that BP, Jerry and the head of scouting Ireland worked together and any time there was a disagreement each side would argue their case on that player and Jerry made the final call. That process is still in place today.

You see a 5 sec shot and you know exactly that Wade is thinking? Please get out here with that non sense. Nailed it right there. BP looked pissed off like he wanted to kick some butts in the locker-room. Wade looks like he is about to cry when he is losing and then spins BS excuses in the after-game presser.
