No. Flozell has every single red flag in the book but he played at a high level. Regardless of what is being said about Gaither he still plays at a high level when you consider his age and production.

Just solve this one enigma for me. If Gaither is so productive, why did they draft his replacement?

Did they draft his replacement or realise they play Dick Lebeau twice a year and need 2 bookends.

If you read through this thread you'll see the Ravens don't want to get rid of him but they don't want to pay him big dollars either.

They are trying to get the hometown discount because they got a lot of free agents in the future.

I knew you'd hide.

You can't prove ****.

Doug Free can't play LT. Opinion.

Now go ahead and prove I'm wrong.

Ohhhhh wait you can't.

It will sink in when they really and truly show a commitment to Doug Free and send Flo packing.

Dallas says good things about a lot of their players. I mean the recent Roy Williams quotes from Jerry were just over the top.

So if Dallas believes Free is the future than show me because @ 26 he is as ready as he will ever be.
The ONLY way they send Flo packing is if they Draft an OT that they want to groom. Free is our future at LT. I really don't care if you and Slate can't accept that.

Jared Gaither is not on the Cowboys radar at this point. So sorry to bring the real world into a fantasy thread.

But others have said that they like their RT. So, they have two bookends. But how do you reconcile, that Oher is now playing LT and Gaither is either moving to RT or to another team. Yes, in any since, they drafted Oher to replace Gaither.

Would you not agree with the following? If they were committed to Gaither, they would have drafted a RT. Would the Dolphins with Jake Long at LT or Cleveland with Joe Thomas at LT draft Okung this year with their first pick?

If they need bookends, why is one bookend on the market? They have a lot invested in Joe Flacco. Wouldn't they want to protect that investment?

For a first round pick, it would appear that Gaither is not on anyone's radar. Why is that Hos? I can't get a straight answer around here. Why did the Raven's draft Gaither's replacement? If Gaither is this good, why are no teams willing to offer a 1st for his services?

Read through the thread. They aren't.

Thats not what was revealed yesterday. Supposedly they were hoping to get a 2nd for him.

Here's the bottom line. Gaither had a good season. The Ravens realize he is not in their plans and they are hoping to capitalize in that good season by getting back more than the 5th round pick they invested in the Supplemental Draft to get him. They realize they have an elite OT in Michael Oher. They prefer he protect Flacco's blind side. Gaither does not translate to RT, so he is not a true bookend, he is a qualified backup.

Is he the all world solution? Better then Free? Better then Flo? I honestly do not think so. I do not get the infatuation to the point of orgasm for this player.

How about if he can both protect and cook?

But Flo's proved his red flag to be not true. Gaither by not showing up for workouts proves that there remain concerns about his work ethic and commitment to becoming better. You just proved my point. GM's are not sold on this guys committment to the game.

Tom Brady didn't show for the Pats workouts either. I guess he is bum as well. Gaither is as much as crapshoot as anyone else in the Draft, except he has started 26 games in the NFL.

I don't keep up with the Ravens a whole lot, but isn't Todd Heap still going strong?

Not really. He can never stay healthy and the Ravens are def looking to draft a TE. Marty and Gaither are very similar. They both have questions, but huge potential. The Boys have Witten and the Ravens have Oher. Nobody is saying they aren't any good, but if they can get a high pick or young player at a positon they need, it could be worth it.

This isn't the NBA. You have to trade value to get value.

Doesnt seem that the Ravens are all that interested in keeping him though, does it?

Good franchises rarely let big time LT prospects entering the prime of their career walk away. They almost seem to be begging somebody to give them SOMETHING for him.

I live the Baltimore area. Everyone on Baltimore radio seems to agrees that Oher has played so well that the Ravens pretty much have to play him at LT. The Ravens know that Gaither would prefer to stay at LT, where the money is. So, in order to avoid having this problem, they are looking to move Gaither before he demands the big money.

I think getting Gaither for a 2nd or 3rd rounder would be a good move, but either way, the Cowboys have to start drafting and developing OL, especially OT's.

Are you willing to put Brady and Gaither in the same sentence? This is too all too easy (in my best Darth Vader voice).

Brady, last I checked has won multiple SB. Last check, his work ethic has never been questioned. Last check, the entire leauge knows that Brady has no questions marks. You know what you are getting with Brady. As you have pointed out (I'd like to thank you for doing so) Gaither has question marks and is a crapshoot. Tom Brady has earned the right to not show.

If Brady is put on the block for a 1st how long does he last?

For the record, don't attempt to put words in my mouth. I never called Gaither a bum.

If we could get Gaither for a 2nd or 3rd round pick, that would really solidify our OL. If we could somehow trade a player straight up for Gaither like say Bennett...OMG!
I'm all for that trade!

Obviously, the Ravens simply don't want to give Gaither another huge contract like Oher got. They rather just move Oher to LT, move Adam Terry to RT and get draft compensation for Gaither. Why pay LT money to Gaither, when Oher can play LT and is already getting LT money?

Since Gaither is still a pup he could probably switch to RT, but why would he downgrade himself financially for the Ravens or any other team for that matter?

It just makes sense for the Ravens to move him now, because they never had much invested in him in the first place as a 5th round supplemental pick. If they do keep Gaither happy in 2010 with that cheap tender (which is highly unlikely), then that's just another year of Oher at RT. Oher's progress at LT has to wait another year, because Gaither has never played RT and certainly won't move now for financial reasons like I said. The Ravens are gonna get more desperate as the deadline approaches and that's good for teams like Dallas with old bookends at tackle.

I've also noticed so far, that no rookie tackles are scheduled to visit Dallas either. Surely, we need to evaluate at least one top tackle from this draft, since our current bookends are over 30...yes?
Is Jerry not showing his hand in the draft by doing this or does he have a FA contingency plan for tackle?

15 days left Jerry.
