Well put. We have talent on the defensive side of the ball. Monte system fits our players well.

His defense got torched.

But they also won the game with his emphasis on turnovers. I don't care what people say, the majority of those takeaways were a direct result of his players making the play.

I thought the effort level was high. They play hard for Monte.

The entire OLine (sans Bern) deserve a gameball. I was very impressed with them as a unit (outside of Mack "the Bum" Bern).

I'm not sure I agree. Most of the running problems were caused by Bern, and Murray still averaged over 4 yards a carry against a good defensive front. Hardly "very bad."

Defense better be hoping they get 4 to 5 TO's a game..And, score on atleast two of em. Because, this offense is just bleh.

I know, I know, It's early, real early.

But, this defense still has no consistent pass rush and the DB's are average at best. Giants WR's were getting open way too easy. This defense was hanging on by a thread this game. No help from the offense mind you, but, the D made the plays when needed. Can't say that has happened the past few years. So, positive points there. Still, a long way to go for this defense.

And , the offense is just puddering along. I hope this Waters guy helps out the OL a bit.

I did like Smith's play last night. Couple of False Start calls, but, for the most part, looked like he was on an island to me when pass protecting. JPP didn't do much.

Yea I think we are forgetting that this is the real first game for this D as a 4-3. Now if this happens in game 6 well then we worry.

DeMarco Murray!!! Not only 89 tough *** yards, but his hustle stopped a sure TD on the Romo/Williams interception at the 2 or 3 yard line. Giant's settled for a FG. Damn good defensive stop, also!
