I had been waiting for this one a long time.
I actively volunteered and knocked on doors and placed signs in peoples
yards when the vote in Arlington was being taken on the Stadium.
I had driven by and watched construction as it took place. Like all of you I
read articles and looked for pictures.
Sunday was the day all that came to fruition. I actually didn't know what
to expect so we planned a very low key, quick tailgate. We brought some
sausage and a few burgers because I planned on entering the Stadium
when it opened at 3 pm.
Plans change. We decided to get to that part of town early, see how things
were looking, maybe grabbing a bite to eat at an area restaurant.
We drove past Lot 11 at 11:20 and see cars in there ! It wasnt supposed
to open till 1 pm but I knew if we waited we wouldn't get one of the limited
tailgate spots so we whip into the lot, only to be told that they had
mistakenly let those people in and were not going to let us in. After some
conversation and my son and wife taking our chairs to a spot they let me
and everybody else in. WOO_HOO extra tailgating time !!
Got set up right along Collins St in Lot 11. I like the grass areas Jerry has
for tailgating, a few small trees. It's all new but they will get bigger and I
foresee a great place to tailgate for years to come.

Had great neighbors on both sides, satellite TV and plenty of food so everybody was sharing. Made my meager offerings look weak but luckily
I had the home made hot sauce to offer. My neighbors had great fajitas.

On one side of us we met 2 couples from Pennsylvania who were in heaven
being around all things Cowboy. They had flown in and had no chairs or
shade so they joined us. This changed my plans because I didn't want to
leave them out in the sun so we just stayed and had a party.
The 2 couples had met a father and daughter, also from Pennsylvania at
the Pro shop and brought them back to our camp so we had 6 fine folks
from PA and I gotta tell you I was very impressed with all of them.
I do believe the daughter was the biggest fan there !

headin in to the stadium about 6 pm, way past when I intended but it worked out just right because we missed the huge crowd getting in early.

This is part of the party pass area, they have a few tables set up, more like a place to watch the game on TV and have drinks. A lot of people didnt understand that I guess.

a pic of some fans in one of the ground level end zone suites. I gotta tell
you, usually anybody that will wear the old leatherhead hat and the big
foam Cowboy hat will get pretty rowdy at a game so maybe those suite
occupants arent so wine and cheesy after all

I have more pics but others will have better game shots and this post is long enough.
It was all I hoped it would be and more until the bitter ending.
If I had known more about where I would be parking and known I wasn't
going in early I would have loved meeting some of you folks cuz I had a
blast meeting all the people around us. Sooner or later we will do that.
Enjoy
