Game Day Rituals?

Anyone have them? For the longest time (especially during our superbowl runs) I would always wear a jersey the entire day. When I got married and started having children I got away from it. Unfortunately that was about the time we started our downward spiral. Not sayin this was the reason.....lol.....But I have decided to renew my ritual. And this time I am getting my whole family involved. Starting this weekend all members of the Creekmore household will wear jerseys on game day.

I have always had one or two jerseys for myself and have some older ones that my kids wear. My wife was the loan person in the house without one. I asked here Sunday what jersey she wanted and she of course picked Tony Romo.....lol. Well just got it in the mail today so we are set for game day

What are your rituals if you have them?

Strip naked and run around the backyard acting out great plays in Cowboys history. My neighbors don't care for this ritual but who cares. :D

Chicken Bones and Hex Gourd at my disposal. I picked up a few trinkets from the Galapagos. Should be able to rile something outta them. Never, EVER, leave the room. Clothing.......optional.

Not many. I get pregame jitters, I try to cook a good meal. Nothing special for me.

I do try to have everything I need done that weekend completed before the game so that I am not worrying about other things.

I refuse to play Madden against the team we are facing that week.

I won't open the first beer until kickoff (the wife has enforced that one since last year - it worked, made the playoffs, so I'm sticking with it)

My dog has a cowboy T-shirt that he wears - pathetic, yes I know :)

I try to be on my best behavior until kickoff, and then all the screaming and cussing begins. I always feel like if I'm a terd, then God will punish me and make the Cowboys lose. I use to think this was with Church as well, and when I didn't go on Sunday mornings, we would lose. (Yes, starting to look like I need help - BUT it is God's favorite team!! :D )

When we go to the games...I've decided that I can't wear jersey's anymore...we've lost the last two times I've worn one!!

I won't answer the phone except if it's my dad...and thats normally right after some crap call by the ref's. Then we just grip about it and hang up.

Theres more, but I'm going to try to keep me from looking to insane!!!:

I put on my Cowboys pajama's, ruffle up my hair, and walk around crazily like the guys in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I occasionally yell for the nurse (my wife) and ask for more medication (beer). :lmao2:

I haven't had a jersey since Aikman around 1992. My wife says, after 30 years of age, it should be illegal for someone to wear a jersey of any sport unless they actually play that sport. Well, since she got the Miami/Cowboys tickets she is going to let me pick up this Ware jersey at the mall that I always look at while we are there! ;) Maybe I can use this time of weakness to nab a Texas Rangers jersey too.

This one to be exact! (love the royal blue!) The question is, who's jersey? It would have been Young's, but I haven't been happy with all his strikeouts lately. Maybe Vicente Padilla. He has a dominating fastball.

I usually have a ton of nervous energy starting about 90 minutes before the game -- I'll mow the lawn, do the dishes, make lunch to take to work the next day, set up the coffee pot to brew for the next morning, vacuum, rake the leaves, and take on pretty much any project I know I can drop at a moment's notice once we get within about 10 minutes of gametime.

I used to have a few beers before the game but being on the West Coast makes that tough.

I am 24 years old and have been a Cowboys fan since I loved football.

I have never once owned a sports jersey for a team I wasn't part of, nor will I ever, unless it is signed and framed.

clean the house, have a nice sunday dinner on the stove or in the oven, wear out the kids that morning so wife alone can handle them during game(no interruptions damnit), set the tivo to record just in case of an interruption, park my butt on the couch and order beers/dinner plate from my wife as needed.

I go to church to pray for a safe game, a Cowboy win and ask for forgiveness for the swearing I am about to partake.

I load up the endtable next to my recliner with beer, soda, chips, etc. and make sure there is a location for my plate (loaded with main entree).

Yell at my wife for talking; if she hadn't spoken to me, the other team would not have done what they did.

Run as fast as I can to the restroom just in case they come back from commercial and I miss it.

Check the comments on CowboysZone at halftime, sometimes chat during the game.

We win, I jump up and down pumping my fists, open the sliding glass door and yelling at the top of my lungs.

We lose, I sit in my chair and pout, no one better speak to me.

Apologize to my wife for yelling at her, but remind her that my attention must be on the game if we want to win.

Something along those lines....

I'm the same way, and I don't really know why. I think it's fine for others, just not my thing. I wear a lot of Cowboys stuff just not jerseys.

First, tell the wife to leave me alone 30 minutes before the game and if the Cowboys lose, she knows not to talk to me till the next day. I don't answer the phone during the game. I sit on one couch on offense and the other on defense. No joke. And I also curse on bad plays and say the "hell yeah" on good ones. I had to buy another remote last year because I broke it when Romo fumbled the snap!
