Game Strategy in the upcoming Eagles game

Orton is no rookie. If he is protected, he can make all the reads and deliver the ball. It helps that we aren't playing against a strong D. Obviously Orton is not Romo, so we will miss that playmaking ability. But we're not playing Seattle or Denver. While Philly is hot, remember they just got dump-trucked by Minnesota 2 weeks ago.

First of all, I'm exaggerating and not serious, of course I don't think we should forfeit....

Second of all, with Tony, there's the hope that this team can win any game, whether that might be a bit delusional or not. With Orton, not so much.

Kyle Orton in two games vs. Eagles: 45-for-75, 388 yards, 6 TDs, 3 INTs. 24-20 Bears win in 2008, 30-27 loss with Broncos in 2009.

thats exactly what i expect. they will load the box and orton will have to beat them. he can do it if he is accurate and protected. the guy is no bum, he can play. but he is no romo

Or , they don't load the box.....wait to see how much Murray can do first.......if they can contain him without loading the front....then....were in trouble...

I suspect they are going to blitz the hell out of Orton.....

Truth be told, I do,too! (although every time it leaves my lips, I cringe ).

Orton played his best in a short pass offense, much like the offense we ran for a large part of the season. Dink and Dunk and let the receivers get some YAC. It may not be sexy, but it is something Orton is capable of doing. It's just a matter of exactly how much rust has built up. Heavy run, lots of play action and God willin' some screen passes will hopefully at least give Orton a chance. Hopefully Orton's arm hasn't decayed to"Brad Johnson" strength and he can at least throw a ball further than 5 yds.

Of course, Garrett will say that's exactly what the Eagles will be expecting and decide to have Orton throw the deep ball all day.

Murray should have 25+ carries. But he should every week, so I'm not exactly hitting anyone with anything surprising.

Philly will load up to stop the run an force orton to beat them so naturally, this will be the game garrett wants to run the ball.

Exactly. Eagle game plan will be to stop the run and pressure th qb. Quick passing and YAC will be huge for the Boys, need turnovers and at least heavy pressure, I think we will have that this week, all out everything on the line pressure.

Romo going down sucks but what gives me hope is this

• Tyron and company should be able to give Orton a little time.
• DeMarco is foaming at the mouth.
  
• Orton's played and won in this league.
• His deep ball might be better than Romo's has been lately.
• Eagles defense is not good.
• Our defense did pretty good against them in Philly.

I hear that the eagles are brimming with confidence. They'd better not get too hyped!
