He’ll be gone soon enough.
The hatred most of you have for this man... is quite sad, really.
I can agree with you on that, play calling is subjective because if the execution breaks down, its hard to know if it was a good play or a bad play. If a run off right tackle is called and a block is missed and the Zeke is tackled in the backfield, then many might say it was a bad call. However, if you look at the tape and see if the block was made, Zeke would have gained 15 yards the play is not necessarily a bad call, just bad execution.
However, and I think you would agree, that there have been problems with Garrett beyond just play calling. For example, not telling your punt returner in a strong wind in New England to move up from the end zone. Like Aikman said, that is just bad coaching. Not having your best players on the field for a play your season is riding on. Why was Cooper on the bench? If the other WRs are just as good as him, why do you need to pay Cooper top 5 money? Then if the other WRs are not as good, why do you put players in the game that are inferior on the most important play of the game? That has nothing to do with play calling.
Look, the bottom line is that in 10 years as head coach Jason Garrett has missed the playoffs 70% of the time. That is the real problem here Idgit. You cant miss the playoffs 7 times out of 10 seasons and expect to keep your job, you and I both know that.
I dint expect him to keep his job. This was a make/break season.
I don't hate him. I hate the job he's done. I hate his stubborn refusal to make needed changes.
By all accounts, I hear he's a nice guy. I don't know him, so I can't hate him. I just want him GONE GONE GONE. He's not a good HC and has proven it.
You are so wrong! He is not a very good coach. I firmly believe that the winning seasons were due to the talent of the players overcoming the very inept coaching.
or is it justified?
He'll be gone today
After wasting 10 years of my cowboys faith.
He was both. It was strange.
I have never met Jason Garrett, so its impossible to personally hate the man.
What I do hate is the job he has done as head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
In his 10 years as head coach, he has missed the playoffs 70% of the time and the times he did make the playoffs what did he do? 2 Wildcard wins, that's it.
Maybe jerry just told him he will keep the job for 5-10 more years ! Plus he is on vacation now no playoff game to fret over lol.
You guys will freak out when he is extended.
I saw something about jerry garrett and a timetable, on tv, but I had the sound down, it was after halftime of SF game.
But if jerry does not let him go monday, he may be planning on keeping him.
Just part of the Jerrah show and illusion...
Meanwhile the only people that seem to care are we the fans, the ones who keep buying the tickets and merchandise to see this miserable spectacle year in and year out with high expectations.
Nothing will change, Jerrah may even keep this clown around another couple of years... after all it’s not like we had a losing season...
Maybe we can get a few more to jump on the bandwagon and buy some Dak or Zeke jerseys...
I was able to watch it. It didn’t seem like anything unusual to me. He was emotional because it was probably his last game as HC in Dallas, and glad the team played well in his finale. Otherwise, he was pretty much the same guy he is after every win afaic.
Out of their control? All they had to do was beat an eagles team full of subs and practice squad players.
I don't think anyone hates the man personally, I think they hate the way he coaches (if you can call it that), I think they hate is BS contrived press conferences, I think they hate his in game decision-making etc. He just got eliminated from the playoffs and he thinks its amazing how they practiced on Christmas Eve???? Seriously?
I agree. He's probably been ready to move on for some time. He's not a good coach, but didn't deserve to be publicly castrated like he was by the Jones boys.
It’s proven that he’s not a good coach. He losses 2-4 games a year on piss poor clock management at the end of games and then we usually miss the playoffs by 1 or 2 games. He is solely the reason we miss the playoffs.
A real HC should always be the target and take the pressure off of his players and assistant coaches instead of throwing them under the bus. That's the biggest issue I have with your red rocket.
You never heard him throw his sugar daddy, Jerry under the bus. I wonder why?
This is a great post!!!! Almost as good as my Garrett Sucks posts!! Lol
So, how do you know those plays weren't his fault? What makes you so sure it wasn't his fault. At the end of the day, he was the HC when they happened and he deserves the blame, just like he got the credit when he was us that Superbowl.......oh, wait......
