The newness has worn off already.
explain why going for 2 is a worse choice than going for 1? Why aren't people getting it?dbair1967;3761766 said:Not with that much time left it isnt.
Woods;3761725 said:Seriously, as soon as we scored the TD to Austin, I said to myself there is too much time on the clock. And the defense folded, yet again.
wileedog;3761791 said:Like some of the offensive failures were on Wade, the defensive failures are on Garrett, the Head Coach.
Not impressed with JG the past two weeks, and tonight probably opens the doors to the Gruden/Cowher/Fox interviews.

13 points
183 yards passing
93 yards rushing.
That's good enough for most descent team to win a game if the Offense and the ST would have taken care of their business.
It was a team loss but if you want to blame one unit for the loss, blame the offense for giving away 14 points in the first quarter.

Then replace alot of this staff with people he wants, and dump the obvious handful of washed up or no-talent players that are holding us back.
Then I'll be excited about 2011, assuming there is a 2011 season.

dbair1967;3761784 said:Not really. I didnt see lack of prepared, I saw lack of concentration by two WR's who make too much money to continually kill our own QB with boneheaded plays.
I dont know what Garrett or any of the other coaches could have done to "prepare" the WR's to not do what they did. Austin made a nice catch for a TD late in the game, but up till that point he had a really bad game. RW should have never been out there to begin with IMO, he looked like a guy running less than half speed to me.
Zman5;3761828 said:If that's the case, then that's on the coaches. The HC should know better not to play someone who isn't ready to go full speed.
ouchDragonCowboy;3761721 said:So none of the guys on offense are guys Garrett wanted?
So we shouldn't give him credit for the 2007 and 2009 offenses?
OK.

dbair1967;3761826 said:Why should I blame the offense as a whole? Just blame the two guys who screwed up those two plays, Austin and RW. Both of whom have done this mutliple tims this yr.
The fact is you have a lead, you've got a team down deep in their own territory with a rookie 5th rd pick at QB, facing 4th and 15. And you give up a 30+ yd play to the only decent offensive player that team has by leaving him wide open.
The defense lost the game, again.
dbair1967;3761806 said:Because with 15+ mins and several possession left, if you dont make it you are "chasing" points
You dont know how the game will play out at that point. You go for two when you are down by certain point factors with limited possessions left. Down by 8 with over a quarter left, I dont think I've seen many (if any) NFL coaches go for 2.

the offense scored points with Kitna & McGee

What's the downside of going for 2 pts?
If you make it, you tie the game. If not, you are down 2 pts. And there is virtually no difference between down 1 pt and down 2 pts.
I can't believe so many people, including JG, don't understand this simple decision making.

Everlastingxxx;3761852 said:You are completely wrong. You have a limited number of possessions, something you admit. If you fail the 2 pointer and they score a field goal or touchdown in return, you still have to score a touchdown. Makes no sense to not go for it at that point.
Amazing how you can blame the defense when the offense gave up more points, lol.
