Couldn't have said it better myself. I never liked him as an OC, either.
Yeah I really went from thinking he was ok to really not liking him as OC and he was also asst HC at that time.
He was in control of offense here from 2007-2013 and he had Romo.
I will be interested to see Romo play for another HC and OC.
Sadly Romo only got the 1 year with linehan, and then the next 2 had injuries.

Ok I cant say that JG masterminded all this, but he may have.
First get rid of Romo, that started last year by not letting Romo come back or play, JG was involved in that.
Now not resigning many players on defense and offense.

So now with 2nd year QB, and many new players on defense, and some on offense, JG will not be
expected to go to SB.

Had they kept Romo as starter, and resigned more players, he would then be expected to win it all.

But now as things have turned out who expects a SB run this year ?
Would JG have good excuse for not winning in playoffs in 2017?

I think all this extends the "process" and JG for many more years

Dak has to develop and grow, the defense has to be built, new players have to be developed.

But mainly getting rid of Romo was the best thing for JG, as long as Romo was the starter
he was expected to win ( if Romo wasnt hurt) but now with Dak, there are several years
of excuses built in.
The team will be competitive for the div title, and be in playoffs most likely, so all is good for JG.

Bottom line is JG might not be able to win against GB in playoffs, or manage the clock,
but he could be a genius at keeping his cushy job.

lol if romo wasnt hurt...he's always hurt

JG is a damn good coach compared to him being over his head when he took over. I can see that and im not even a fan of his.

Dak has grown from week 1 to having a great game in the playoffs. He was awsome in that game. Only fans who are miserable no matter this teams cant find the excitement surrounding this team. Ur better off following Romo where ever he goes

Who is this team losing on defense that will have them "rebuilding"? McClain is decent but nothing to worry about. Church, Wilcox, Carr, Claiborne...This forum was calling them all bums every week. Now all of the sudden this defense is "rebuilding"?

I found a way to discredit him as soon as I took a look at what he has accomplished since he's been here for the team, which has been a considerable amount if time.

Then I remembered at all the times he has been out coached when it mattered most. The man is Jerry's yes man. He brings absolutely nothing to the table except that whip he lets jerry beat him with.
2 12 wins seasons in 3 years. He isnt going anywhere anytime soon

Exactly, but Jason is very good at dealing with the jones boys, and keeping his job without winning.
This thread isnt about firing him, it is pointing out that wont happen, in fact all pressure is now off JG for the next few years.
all he has to do is make the playoffs , have a winning record, and he looks good.
The process will go on and on.

To me JG had a SB team in 2014 and 2016 and could not get past div round and GB.
Should have won SB both of those years.

I agree with you.

I just like to express my disdain for the man at every opportunity that seems fitting.

Nope, unfortunately he isn't going anywhere.

And 3 Super Bowls?

LOL lets just see if he can string a couple of playoff wins together in a row sometime this decade before talking about Garrett being judged on Super Bowls.

Tony was hurt only 2 years, he could have come back by game 5 last year, but JG didnt want him back.

Dak had a good year , but he wasnt awesome, he had the slow start, as he did in other games, and then came on strong in last qtr.
But I dont see anything wrong with dak he is good, and should get better. The point is with Dak JG has excuse to not win SB in near
future.

The defense is a ? right now, have to see who all they lose and what replacements are like. but it is another built in excuse.

I will follow Tony and hope he does good.

I think the cowboys will make playoffs again, but once there, will they get past the div round??

He's won 12 games or more two of the last three years. He's overhauled the roster and in his time we've overhauled the salary cap. He's the reigning Coach of the Year in the entire league, and some of you guys still think you know better than he does because you've second-guessed a couple of play calls. It's kind of getting silly.

If Tony leads another team to a SB win , that would make JG and Jones boys look bad ??
It is a maybe but it could happen. If he doesnt, then they look good.

Jason Garrett has made the playoffs exactly one single time and this is year eight of his reign. Furthermore, Garrett has never fielded a team with a winning record in back-to-back seasons.

In all honesty, Garrett's job is not dependent on the win/loss column here. If it did, he would have been fired years ago.

He's the reigning Coach of the Year in the entire league.......lol that is meaningless, do you really think he was the best coach last year ??
He's won 12 games or more two of the last three years......6 years as HC and those are the only 2 winning seasons.
1-3 in playoffs, and if you count the win or go home games of the 8-8 years, he is 1-6
He's overhauled the roster ...... lol yes and that is still ongoing after 6 years, part of the process.

Well he made playoffs 2 times beast. and I dont count 2010.
I think they will have a winning record in 2017 and make playoffs, but once there could be same results.
The Jones boys are making a HC in JG , jerry said this in his own jerry speak. They think once he has enough experience, and with
good coaches under him, and a great set of players, lol then they can win the big one.

Also the 2 winning seasons came after linehan became OC.

The people that cover the league professionally and who can speak intelligently about all 32 teams, their composition, and performance all got together and voted Garrett CotY.

You're biased and make believe stats notwithstanding, their opinions are better informed than yours at the very least.

Some people judge coaches by what they do in the playoffs, not the regular season.

Marvin Lewis has won COTY also, but has done jack in the playoffs..........very similar to Garrett
