FWIW, Ian Rappaport just said on NFL Network: "they truly have some doubts now whether he's going to be the transformative LB they thought he was going to be."

Huh? Everything we've heard so far has been extremely positive.

We'll see, Ian.

There was a time when reporters use to have sources for a story. Ian is a frequent liar, lying is the current fad.

Sounds like it has nothing to do with the actual injury. Dallas treating him like a year 2 player basically who probably has the defense down. But then again why attend? If hes part of the vets
I don't know......looks like we're to file into two schools of thought on this one.....
1) Those who remain optimistic based on the smoke and mirrors of vaguely positive reports by the Jones', coaching, etc + Jaylon's random twitter quotes and "bigfoot" style videos + the fact we didn't draft a LB nor seriously address in FA

2) Those who are skeptical due to the severity of the original injuries + lack of definitive status reports from an involved medical professional and + now this news that Jaylon is not going to participate in the physical activity portion of rookie mini camp.

I'm torn as well

Marketing. Most fans don't know anybody who's name isn't called on Sunday; this way he gets promoted with the other fresh faces and, in a way, becomes the first round prospect of the 2017 rookies.

Looks like we will just have to wait and see for ourselves.

They just recently said that they think he could play without his brace by the beginning of the year and now we get a random report saying he may not be what they thought.

I thinks it's more that it would be stupid to put him on the field for live drills or plays with overzealous rookies who are out to impress and might be a little too aggressive. No need to risk anything during the first rookie camp.

He could be a solid starting LB for us this season, or he could be a huge bust and never have full mobility of his drop foot.

Neither would come as a surprise.

The fact that we let two LBs (Durant, Gachkar) walk in the offseason and didn't draft any replacements is pretty telling, I think. I believe the team expects Jaylon to play at a fairly high level this year.

I think Durant is still out there and i'm kind of hoping we bring him back if Hitchens doesn't finally step up.

I like Wilson and the potential Nzeocha showed last pre-season.

It's an interesting group

I think Durant was making noises about retiring last season before we brought him in, wasn't he? I thought he was underrated as an athlete when he was here, but I suspect he's done.

They do seem to like Nzeocha quite a bit, for a guy we haven't seen much of yet. I suspect he's the reason we didn't do anything with Gachkar. Wilson was chasing cars when he first got here, but things seemed to slow down for him last year. He's got that SAM job on lock now.

It is an interesting group. If Jaylon comes in and gives us something Durant didn't, it's got potential.

IT sounded like Dallas was the only place he wanted to play and i'm sure that hasn't changed.

Yeah, I thought we should have gone linebacker in the draft. But the team/FO knows better than any of us do.
So I believe their report.

All this rookie but not a rookie talk is confusing and I don't know who to believe.
